Gallagher should do better with that, he's not under too much pressure. I think he'll be disappointed.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 1-0 Scotland

That's another big chance in my book.

Scotland have posed a threat from set pieces, and this time the ball falls to Declan Gallagher who's header lands on the roof of the net.

The Motherwell captain should do better, and he knows it.

If McGinn had looked up, O'Donnell was totally free at the back post.

Is there any other footballer on the planet that uses their backside as well as John McGinn, seriously?

The Aston Villa midfielder swivels superbly in the box before seeing a close-range effort deflect wide.

Again Israel pose a threat again as Zahavi links well with strike parter Weissman, but the forward's effort goes high and wide of David Marshall's goal.

  6. CLOSE!published at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 1-0 Scotland

    Oofftt!

Israel almost double their advantage instantly after the restart as Zahavi is found in the box before turning and whipping an effort to the far post.

It would have been a terrific finish but it's just wide via the slightest of deflections.

Will we see a repeat of the nightmare in Haifa back in October 2018, or will Scotland turn it around in the second half?

Scotland are flattering to deceive. They are having some nice moments but not executing. This is a huge examination of Scotland and their ability to find goals and be clinical. They didn't do it on Sunday, they need to do it tonight.

It's a great time for Israel and the worst time for Scotland. Steve Clarke's going to need a big team talk.

  12. HALF-TIME - Israel 1-0 Scotlandpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

Similar to Sunday against Slovakia, Scotland have had their chances but have failed to convert.

However, Israel have posed a threat of their own and, unlike their opponents, have made Scotland pay by taking one of their opportunities.

With the Czech Republic leading in their game, it's all to do for Steve Clarke's men if they are going to secure top spot in Group B2.

The 21-year-old has been Israel's standout man so far, and he makes Scotland pay with a fantastic finish.

The Shakhtar Donetsk forward is found by Zahavi before standing up Scott McTominay, feinting past him and rifling a shot past David Marshall into the far corner.

  14. Postpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

Ryan Christie has to do better!

The Celtic man has been superb so far but if his pass to John McGinn is better he is through one-on-one with Ofir Marciano.

Straight up the other end Zahavi fluffs his lines in the box.

  15. Israel's turn to threatenpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

That was an impossible cross to defend. An Israeli striker just needed to get on the end of it. Dasa's cross from the right-hand side was just about as good as you can get.

  16. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

Up the other end Dasa whips in a dangerous cross that evades everyone in the box before Solomon tries his luck from distance, but it isn't too far wide.

The Shakhtar Donetsk man has been lively so far.

This game might be coming to life here...

  17. Marciano keeps Israel levelpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

Fingertips. Marciano just managed to stretch his arm and claw the ball out from underneath the crossbar.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    WHAT. A. SAVE!!

Scott McTominay again whips in a great cross which finds John McGinn who glances a lovely header towards the top-left corner, but his former Hibs team-mate Ofir Marciano stops him with one of his stunning acrobatic saves.

  19. Scotland full of 'confidence and belief'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

It's been a very decent start to the game for us. We haven't created many chances but we've not looked vulnerable. We look like we have the confidence and belief that we can take this game.

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 0-0 Scotland

He's got to hit the target!

Another chance goes begging for Scotland as John McGinn plays a ball across the edge of the area before Ryan Jack helps it onto Stephen O'Donnell, who is charging up from right wing-back, but the Motherwell man drags his shot well off target.

He should be doing better, and he knows it!
