  1. Christie the danger man, againpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 0-0 Scotland

Ryan Christie really is getting himself about so far.

The former Inverness man gets on the end of a high ball which finds him in the box and, with Ofir Marciano charging out at him, he does brilliantly to loft it over the keeper before the ball is headed behind for a Scotland corner.

From the resulting corner, Declan Gallagher heads over.

The hosts see their first sight of goal as captain Natcho puts a lovely ball into the box which finds Menachem at the back post, but the full-back's half volley is gathered comfortably by David Marshall.

Straight up the other end Scott McTominay whips in a delightful cross of his own, but it's just out of Lyndon Dykes' reach.

  3. Czech take the lead against Slovakiapublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 0-0 Scotland

Not good news for Scotland as West Ham's Tomas Soucek opens the scoring for the Czech Republic.

Remember, Scotland need to match their result to finish top of the group.

Ryan Christie's doing exactly what he did the other night. He must have run 3km already. He's a bundle of energy.

  5. CLOSE!published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 0-0 Scotland

Scotland's first effort on goal comes from that man Ryan Christie.

In all honesty, he should have sent through Lyndon Dykes before he let fly but the Celtic man's effort from 20 yards wasn't far away, and he wins a free-kick in the process.

However, the resulting free-kick, taken by Christie, is fired into the wall.

    Israel 0-0 Scotland

One thing that has certainly stood out in the games during this international period has been Scotland's intent to win the ball back.

It's on show again tonight as the away side are pressing the hosts high up the pitch.

  7. Postpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel 0-0 Scotland

A ball over the top sets Ryan Christie in behind club team-mate Nir Bitton, but he stays on his feet after being clipped and the ball runs out of play as he looks to play in a cross.

Would've been a different story if he went down.

    Positive start from the Scots.

    Israel v Scotland (19:45)

Speaking to Sky Sports pre-match, Scotland manager Steve Clarke said: "If it was the best team last Thursday, it's the best team tonight.

"The boys on Sunday put in a good performance. Some probably deserved to stay in, but I'm paid to make decisions.

"The opportunity is clear. If we win the game we win the section, and if we win the section it gives us a boost going into the next campaign, that's what we need to do."

  19. Scotland musn't 'stand still' - Jackpublished at 19:06 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel v Scotland (19:45)

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Sport Scotland

Following last week's historic Euro 2020 qualification, Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has insisted that Scotland must not "stand still" if they are to reach back-to-back major tournaments.

"The other night [last Thursday] was obviously huge," said Jack.

"But, as players, we've enjoyed it and need to forget it about now. We need to move on because this Israel game could be massive for us going forward.

    Media caption,

Jack not satisfied with one major tournament

"We want to be a squad that can achieve back-to-back major tournaments and more success. That's got to be the aim and it's important we don't dwell on the other night and stand still."

Clarke's men were held 1-1 at home by Israel two months ago in the Nations League before beating them on penalties in the Euro play-off semi-final a month later.

"They've probably been our toughest game recently," Jack added.

"Both were very tough nights and that was at home as well, so we're expecting another difficult match. But there's a carrot there that can help us in the future, so it's a massive game for us."

  20. 'There's no doubt Scotland are favourites' - Ruttensteinerpublished at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    Israel v Scotland (19:45)

In the previous four meetings between the sides, Scotland have only won once inside 90 minutes against tonight's opponents.

However, Israel interim head coach Willi Ruttensteiner is in no doubt who the favourites are going into the final Nations League group game.

"There is no doubt that Scotland are favourites," says Ruttensteiner. "We are below them in the world rankings and they must be respected.

"Without a doubt the game is in their hands. Despite this, we have had good results against them in the past and I believe it can be done again."
