Hearts boss Robbie Neilson is not so pleased, saying the penalty Alan Trouten converted in extra time should never have been given

"We battered them the whole game and just couldn't score. Then we lose the penalty at a key moment to a bad decision from the referee."

This is as bad as I've seen Aberdeen, but you expect them to react. St Mirren have to take their chances. They should be out of sight

  13. HALF-TIME St Mirren 1-1 Aberdeenpublished at 18:03 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

If you don't take your chances...

The St Mirren players will be stunned as they head into the dressing room since they have completely bossed the first 45 minutes.

The Paisley side had a strong case for a penalty after the opening goal from Ilkay Durmus and then Jon Obika knocked a shot wide when it looked easier to score.

Aberdeen have had one look at goal and Niall McGinn tucked it in.

That's come from nothing. It just falls to McGinn. St Mirren are so unlucky. They're unlucky not to be further ahead and they're unlucky to be level

    Niall McGinn

    Aberdeen goal

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin is tearing his hair out!

Aberdeen have been completely under the cosh and now they are level as a speculative Jonny Hayes shot is deflected between the two home centre-halves and falls perfectly for Niall McGinn, who squeezes a shot in past goalkeeper Jak Alnwik, who got something on it.

  17. CLOSE!published at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen

Oh my word... It should be 2-0 now as Aberdeen are again at sixes and sevens in their own penalty area. The ball drops to Jon Obika just a few yards out and the big striker somehow prods it wide under pressure from keeper Joe Lewis.

St Mirren are ramping up the pressure as a wonderful turn from Dylan Connolly takes him clear of Greg Leigh but he shoots straight at the advancing Joe Lewis.

  20. Cosgrove isolated up toppublished at 17:53 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2020

    St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen

That's 35 minutes gone in Paisley and Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove has hardly had a touch. St Mirren are snapping into every challenge and not giving the visitors a second to settle.
