    Delighted Alloa manager Peter Grant has been hailing the "unbelievable commitment" from his part-time players after dumping Hearts out of the cup.

    Hearts boss Robbie Neilson is not so pleased, saying the penalty Alan Trouten converted in extra time should never have been given

    "We battered them the whole game and just couldn't score. Then we lose the penalty at a key moment to a bad decision from the referee."

    The St Mirren players will be stunned as they head into the dressing room since they have completely bossed the first 45 minutes.

    The Paisley side had a strong case for a penalty after the opening goal from Ilkay Durmus and then Jon Obika knocked a shot wide when it looked easier to score.

    St Mirren are ramping up the pressure as a wonderful turn from Dylan Connolly takes him clear of Greg Leigh but he shoots straight at the advancing Joe Lewis.

    The ball is worked back into the danger zone and Aberdeen just about manage to repel two follow-up efforts.
