"That's the bit we all relish to be honest. That's what gets us up in the morning.

"We know we have a huge task today against the holders. It's as tough as it gets.

"Everyone will write us off but we want to see if we can cause an upset here.

  8. County successes over Celtic drying uppublished at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2020

    Celtic v Ross County (14:00)

County have enjoyed two famous cup semi-final wins over Celtic - 3-1 in the League Cup in 2016 and 2-0 in the Scottish Cup in 2010 - but successes against the Glasgow side have somewhat dried up in recent years.

While they have proven stubborn visitors to the east end and have three draws there to their name, they have not won in any of their 12 trips to Celtic Park.

Since the last of those draws in 2016, they have lost five in a row without scoring and have conceded 18 goals. Counting home games against Celtic, they have lost seven in a row, conceding 24 and scoring once.

You get the feeling it's crossroads for Celtic. I think they will win this one, but if they were to lose it, I think Neil Lennon could be removed from his position

    Celtic v Ross County (14:00)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon on BBC Radio Scotland: "Callum has played a huge volume of games, but he needs a bit of a rest to freshen him up.

"Barkas has been training really well and getting used to the tempo of the game here.

"We are looking for consistency of performance, to find a bit of form and cut out the errors. There has to be some perspective - we are coming into the tournament as defending champions and want to defend it as best we can.

"Thursday was disappointing and 4-1 looks bad on paper, but there were aspects of the game I was happy with. There has been little time on the training ground since Thursday, so there has been a lot of talking it through."

It is a good fixture for Celtic trying to get some form back as County are not doing well either. They go with a more defensive line-up and that's not surprising and it's going to be a tough ask for them

    Celtic v Ross County (14:00)

The pressure is on Celtic manager Neil Lennon after only two wins in nine games for a side who are used to enjoying long unbeaten runs and who are aiming to win the League Cup for a fifth consecutive season.

They couldn't have asked for a much better chance to get their season back on track after Thursday's 4-1 Europa League humbling by Sparta Prague than having Ross County as visitors. County have only won twice in seven outings - and both of them were against League Two sides - Elgin City and Stirling Albion - in the group stage.

They have won once in six games away from Dingwall - and that was in nearby Elgin - and haven't won in seven outings against top-flight opponents.

    Celtic v Ross County (14:00)

County manager Stuart Kettlewell is able to add some vital experience to what has been a youthful line-up in recent weeks because of injuries and suspensions.

Callum Morris and Keith Watson return to the defence, with Iain Vigurs back in midfield after the end of his ban.

The unfortunate Tom Grivosti, who recently returned from a year on the sidelines, misses out through injury along with dangerous winger Regan Charles-Cook, while midfielder Jordan Tillson drops to the bench.

County also have a change in goal, with Ross Laidlaw taking the place of on-loan Ross Doohan, who can't face his parent club.
