Arsenal have started this second half really well. They are pushing Everton back and finally showing some urgency.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 55 mins

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

And Arsenal so nearly are back in it! Jordan Pickford comes for a cross, makes a hash of it and can only bat it down inside the area.

David Luiz hits the shot down, into the ground and up against the post and out.

That is unlucky for the centre-back.

  3. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Arsenal seeing loads of the ball but it's mainly going sideways on the halfway line. That is a bit better though as they work it Bukayo Saka inside the area and his shot is charged down.

  4. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Easy for Michael Keane, just shrugs off Eddie Nketiah to win the ball back.

Arsenal do have options on the bench - Alexandre Lacazette for one. Changes?

It will be one win in 10 league games if Arsenal don't turn this around. Woeful record.

As you only show the nonsense. Arsenal have looked for another manager and ended up with Emery. Thankfully the damaged goods that is big Sam is not an option. Print that instead of ignoring everything I write.

Great news all round for those of a Blues persuasion at the moment.

Mustafi, Holding, Bellerin, Xhaka, Pepe, Leno, Luiz, Willian, Ceballos, Kolasinac - none of them worthy to wear the Arsenal badge. Shambles of a season, shambles of a club.

    Fed up Gunner JD

The next 45 mins will dictate Arteta's future. He's on borrowed time and Arsenal's league position speaks volumes. The can be no denial about the fact the team has gone backwards. I'm with the 'more time' camp but we simply don't have the time.

"Got on a lucky one, came in eighttteeennn to one."

My neighbour Emma has just messaged me to say she's won a bet for Yerry Mina to score a header, an 18/1 shot, as 'Arsenal are poor in the air.'

Perhaps Mikel should get her on the phone to sort them out for the second half.

  11. 'We saw a top game today'published at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2020

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Man City

    Southampton

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl told MOTD: "We played against Man City. They’re not so bad, eh? To be honest we played a much better game than last season when we won 1-0. We have made such progress since then.

"They had to put their best game on the pitch to win here, and that’s the best praise you can give our players.

"We saw a top game on the pitch today. [Manchester City] have never been pressed so much.

"We had some good chances and some misses, so I’m really proud of my team.

"For the first 15 mins we played around their box but they defended well, they’re a good team. This is how we want to play against the top teams, not to be scared.

"We never lose, we either win or we learn."

On Danny Ings' injury: "He’s hurt his hamstring. We had one day less to recover. It was a risk to play him. Hopefully he’s not so bad. We’ll have a look.

"You can feel our team is completely convinced about the way we want to play. It’s risky but with the ball it’s impressive.

"We cause the big teams issues, but in the end you cannot control their quality for 90 minutes. It’s about getting some luck to get the points."

Sulaimon Adelekan: Willian is a total flop.

Is Willian the worst player in the premier league? Certainly the one who's fallen the fastest.

Here's a weird one - Yerry Mina's last four Premier League goals have all been scored in the 45th minute. Loves just the thought of a cup of tea and a jaffa cake.

  14. ''Proud of the way we played'published at 18:20 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2020

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Man City

    Southampton

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl speaking to Sports Report on 5 Live: "You cannot be happy when you lose and put such an effort into the game.

"I think we played better but it's not always possible to do it. I'm very proud of the way played today because we put some real pressure on them and also with the ball, we had some fantastic decision making. What we lacked today was the decisions in the final third, the last chances to score.

"We had a few [chances] but they also defended really well. We showed a really brave performance and I think it was a really top game in the Premier League and we showed why we are in position three in the Premier League for this game.

"It's not a coincidence and we deserve to be there and I have seen a team that is playing against Manchester City and really believing what they are doing and showed some really good stuff.

"The game was super intense and tactically at the highest level. You must be so organised otherwise it's difficult to defend. Our centre-backs did a good job today.

"Everybody is very tired now but we showed we can compete with such teams. It's an unbelievable development and no one would've thought that at the start of the season."

MastafaFeeroz: Whoever thinks there are no managers who can make this team better. Look at the other dugout. And probably most of the others in this league.

It's frustrating watching Arsenal, however It's look like that Everton goal has woken us up, I'm remaining optimistic however.

    Yerry Mina (45 mins)

Everton lead once more! From the corner it's whipped into the near post and the giant figure of Yerry Mina climbs highest of all to thump in a header. Bernd Leno gets hands on it but it's so close in he can't stop it.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 45 mins

    Everton 1-1 Arsenal

What an effort and what a save! He really is becoming a complete forward, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. We've seen powerful headers, hold-up play, runs from the halfway line and now a rasping 25-yard left-footer!

It's going in too until Bernd Leno tips it over.

That's pretty tame. Gylfi Sigurdsson serves the free-kick into the wall and then shins the follow-up volley wide.
