    West Brom 0-1 Aston Villa

Since the start of last season, Jake Livermore is the fourth player to receive a Premier League red card for a foul on Jack Grealish, the most of any player in this time.

    West Brom 0-1 Aston Villa

A uphill struggle for 10-man West Brom in the second half.

Big Sam has a big teamtalk to give at the interval.

Villa player should have received a red. Inconsistency of VAR is pathetic.

The main impact of VAR is that the refereeing has got much worse.

Villa have a free-kick in stoppage time at the end of the first half, but Anwar El Ghazi's effort strikes his own player - Kortney Hause, who should not even be on the pitch.

Simon Atkins: How? HOW is that not a red card? What? The two fouls were minutes apart and they still can't be consistent! Disgraceful.

Oliver Camp: Total neutral, but if Livermore's was a red, I think Hause's was too...

In the interest of fairness, I should probably be as vociferous about that Kortney Hause challenge.

It really should have been a red too but Martin Atkinson did not even come to the pitchside monitor.

That's what angers fans so much, the lack of consistency.

Simon Atkins: Jack Grealish definitely has a reputation for diving, but I do wonder if a lot of that is because he is targeted a lot more by other teams. Absolutely awful challenge.

OHAT2020: I think that's harsh, he was trying to get his foot around the ball and hoik the ball back, he wasn't intentionally going in in a cowardly manner or looking to hurt the opponent

Kortney Hause is a lucky, lucky boy.

He comes in late on Grady Diangana, treading on the West Brom man's ankle which bends over horribly but no red card on this occasion.

Why not? Why on Earth not?

Two clear red cards today (Lundstram and Livermore), easy calls the referees have got wrong. Not good enough without hiding behind VAR.

He just kept chomping on his gum as referee Martin Atkinson reversed his decision.

West Brom have it all to do now.

Had to be, disgusting challenge from the West Brom skipper, jumping in on Jack Grealish and catching the Villa skipper high on his leg with his studs.
