GOAL - Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palacepublished at 5 mins

    Bertrand Traore

    Villa strike first!

Massive credit goes to Ollie Watkins who is on the edge of the penalty area, produces a step over and is far, far too fast for Scott Dann.

Watkins strikes at goal and Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita does well to get a hand to it but it just falls straight to Bertrand Traore and he blasts it into the net.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 1 min

    Aston Villa 0-0 Crystal Palace

Nearly a goal for the visitors inside the first minute. Wilfried Zaha rockets past Tyrone Mings but Emiliano Martinez is quickly off his line to narrow the angle and Zaha's strike hits the Villa keeper and bounces away.

    Fulham 0-0 Southampton

Early heart-in-mouth moment for Fulham fans as defender Tosin Adarabioyo completely misses the ball as he tries to clear but he recovers before Shane Long can prosper.

Here come the sides. No Danny Ings for the blue-and-yellow visitors, which could be massive.

A Saints win would take them third.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BBC Sport: "Training has been good I'm afraid these games and results do come around from time to time [7-0 defeat to Liverpool], you don't want them and they're painful when they arrive but you mustn't allow them to have a long term effect on you. It's important to just keep playing the way we've been playing at the moment."

  11. 'A point was the least we deserved'published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Leicester City 2-2 Manchester United

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers speaking to BT Sport: "I thought it was a good game - two attacking teams and I thought we had lots of really good play. Our defending and counter pressing was very good you have to do that against teams like Man United they break so fast. In the first half that element of our game was good.

"Second half we had to defend a bit more but were still compact and tight and then had good moments when we were playing through and maybe lacked the final pass. We go 2-1 behind and we've always had enthusiasm and confidence but these games you go behind against a team that's been playing so well it really showed the mentality of the players and we deserved a point at least out the game.

"That's Jamie Vardy's game that's why he's one of the best - his concentration level, he'll always be in and around the box. He has a football brain and knows where it's going to drop and then he's there to finish it.

"Marcus Rashford had a chance early on and I thought over the first half we were the better team. Bit of luck went against us and Vardy does what he does he's a top class finisher. I thought it was the least we deserved.

"Back in tomorrow, recover, then see where we're at we need to look at freshness lots of players have played lots of games so we'll go back in tomorrow and see where we're at."

  12. 'You feel better when you have the support around you'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Leicester City 2-2 Manchester United

    Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, speaking to BBC Sport: "I enjoy it, I have a good team around me and they helped me since the beginning. They give me confidence and when you have that support behind you you feel better.

"We are looking to win games. If you focus on other teams you don't focus on what you can do."

  13. 'Fulham have become much more difficult to beat'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Fulham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Southampton are without a few key players - Oriol Romeu is missing through suspension and Danny Ings, Jannik Vestergaard and Nathan Redmond are all not playing. Collectively, their absence will make a big difference.

I'm going to go with Fulham here, even with manager Scott Parker missing from the dugout. After a poor start to the season they have been improving in recent weeks, with three successive draws.

The Cottagers have become much more difficult to beat, now they need to turn those draws into wins.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-1

  14. Postpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Fulham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

There's no Scott Parker on the bench for Fulham today by the way - he's self isolating at home so former Southampton boss Stuart Gray is taking charge. Parker presumably on the phone all day like a backseat driver.

Looks a dry and pleasant Boxing Day London afternoon down by the Thames. A win would take Fulham out of the bottom three again.

  15. 'We could have finished it off'published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Leicester City 2-2 Manchester United

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to BT Sport: "Disappointed we didn't win today because we had loads of big chances and we could've finished it off but they're a dangerous side, the goal from Jamie Vardy just shows his quality.

"It was a good goal from Marcus Rashford as well and I'm glad he scored. He knows the first chance was a glorious one [missed chance in the first half]. Missing that is just one of those things.

"Both goals should've been closed down quicker - the first one definitely and the second one we should manage to stop the cross. You always look at goals conceded, what we should've or could've done better.

"Of course we've got a game in three days - we have an extra recovery day which we will use wisely. One point is not the worst result but we're disappointed to not get the three points against a tough side."

  17. 'Palace didn't play badly against Liverpool'published at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Football Focus

You saw Roy Hodgson's handshake with Jurgen Klopp at the end of his team's 7-0 defeat to Liverpool and his reaction was along the lines of 'what do you do when you are on the end of a result like that?'

I didn't think Crystal Palace played badly. They were in the game first half but sometimes you come up against a team that not only has the quality but also have a good day. I'm not taking anything away from Liverpool because they have undoubtedly got the quality and are title holders, but everything they hit went in.

  18. 'We can be happy with a point'published at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Leicester City 2-2 Manchester United

    Leicester City

Leicester's Jamie Vardy speaking to BT Sport: "I don't think I'll get credited for that goal, I think it was going wide - but it's got us a point that I thought we thoroughly deserved.

"It is all about patience. You can't score with every attack it's about keeping the ball and making the best opportunities to score as possible and hopefully be in a position to be on the end of a cross at the end of it.

"No one wanted to lose - everyone was going for the win but I think we played really well against a good team and defended resolutely so we can be happy with a point.

"We were a bit disappointed at half time to go in at 1-1. Their goal was a bit lucky but that's one of those things it's how you react in football and we reacted well. Harvey Barnes' goal was excellent. We just had to keep probing and create the chances.

"Happy with a draw but there's another game in two days so we look forward to that one."
