    Leeds v Burnley (12:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Burnley are on a good run, with two draws and two wins in their past four games, and this should be a good game.

Leeds are not great defensively in open play or at set-pieces, and their goalkeeper Illan Meslier makes some good saves but doesn't command the area.

Meslier is just a kid at 20. He looks like he has the makings of a really good keeper, but he isn't one at the moment. He is still learning, and he is playing behind a porous back four.

Leeds know their strength is going forward, though, and they are not going to change. I think they will win, but there is no way they are getting a clean sheet.

    Prediction: 2-1.

It is a return to Elland Road for Chris Wood, who spent three years with the Yorkshire club and scored 41 league goals in 83 games before joining Burnley in 2017.

    Leeds v Burnley (12:00 GMT)

    Burnley

No messing from Sean Dyche, who says his side will look to take advantage at set-pieces against Leeds United today.

"We have a number of players who will attack set pieces with a belief they can score and that is a powerful thing," said the Burnley boss. "I think we have looked a real threat as our season has stepped on a little bit.

"I think we continue to look a threat from set pieces, it is not just an analytical view of Leeds although we know they have had some troubles with it this season, but that doesn't guarantee anything on the day.

"We have to go about our set piece side of the game in the right manner. They have been up and down with a lot of goals going in and against. Set pieces seem to be a challenge for them, which can happen.

"We have to capitalise and do all the right things to win a game."

  6. 'Nobody can say I put style over results'published at 11:41 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

    Leeds v Burnley (12:00 GMT)

    Leeds United

The criticism from some corners came not long after Marcelo Bielsa was nominated for the best men's coach in Fifa's annual awards.

The 65-year-old has transformed Leeds since taking over in June 2018, leading the Yorkshire club back into the Premier League last season after a 16-year absence.

The Whites have proved an entertaining addition to the English top-flight, having stuck to their high-tempo attacking principles and being involved in several high-scoring matches.

Four days after beating Newcastle 5-2 at Elland Road, Bielsa's side lost heavily against their old rivals at Old Trafford.

Leeds are 15th in the Premier League, having taken 17 points from their opening 14 games.

"The best way to win is to play well. So nobody can say I put style over results," added Bielsa.

"Normally, when there is adversity, what the press do is try to weaken the one who is facing adversity or to ridicule the style of play of a team."

If you missed it, Marcelo Bielsa gave the media almost an hour of tactical analysis on his side following some criticism after their 6-2 defeat by Manchester United.

  9. 'Press analysis' won't influence Leedspublished at 11:34 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

    Leeds v Burnley (12:00 GMT)

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa: "In no way do I think the analysis made by the press will have any impact on the team, the analysis was useful to see what things we had to improve and what we didn't.

"We have to manage to attack well with that not affecting how we defend. What we want is to look for the goal with patience, and during this we don't want to suffer any chances on our goal.

"Burnley are a team who has played together for a long time, with the same formation, without varying the players too much. They are a team who don't attack loads but create danger and have a defensive structure which is full of players."

    Leeds v Burnley (12:00 GMT)

    Burnley

Speaking about his side's recent improvement in results, Burnley manager Sean Dyche told Sky Sports: "One of the key things has been the squad getting fit again and we have worked hard for that Premier League sharpness."

On the Leeds threat: "The whistle blows and the game doesn't always pan out how you think it will. But football doesn’t change too much, and it's about putting the ball in that net and keeping it our of that one. They have conceded 30 goals so there are ways of opening them up."

    Wolves v Tottenham (19:15 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker, who was injured against Chelsea and missed Monday's defeat at Burnley, is a major doubt for this game.

Defender Jonny and forward Raul Jimenez remain long-term injury absentees.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is set to shuffle his pack after making seven changes for Wednesday's EFL Cup win.

Giovani Lo Celso is out with a hamstring injury but Tanguy Ndombele is fit despite not making the squad for the midweek trip to Stoke.

Defender Japhet Tanganga is out until the new year with a shoulder problem.

  14. Can Big Sam repeat Anfield trick?published at 11:28 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

Liverpool v West Brom (16:30 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Liverpool's home record is just unbelievable, fans or no fans. All the time, their young players are getting more and more experience too and, whoever they play at Anfield, they seem to be able to just brush them aside.

It's hard to make a case for West Brom to get anything out of this one but it would help matters if they can keep 11 players on the pitch this weekend.

I am sure new Baggies boss Sam Allardyce will get that message across to his players pretty quickly but, in terms of results, I am not expecting to see them make much improvement until the January transfer window opens.

Big Sam is the last man to win at Anfield in the Premier League, with Palace in April 2017, but I don't see a repeat result for him here. I know it has been a strange season, but come on!

    Prediction: 3-0

  15. Salah set to return for Redspublished at 11:26 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

Liverpool v West Brom (16:30 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool will monitor the fitness of James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri, but this game comes too soon for fellow midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Top scorer Mohamed Salah is set to return to the starting line-up after beginning on the bench last weekend.

West Brom are without captain Jake Livermore, who starts a three-game ban following his red card against Aston Villa.

Matheus Pereira returns after missing the defeat by Villa through suspension.

West Ham v Brighton (14:15 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

This is a tough one to call because you know that Brighton play some good football without really hurting teams. West Ham have been playing some decent stuff too, but have gone a couple of games without winning.

I'm going to go with the Hammers, though, mainly because there is a chance that Michail Antonio could be available after his hamstring injury.

    Prediction: 2-1

  18. A score draw in the capital?published at 11:20 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

West Ham v Brighton (14:15 GMT)

You might expect a draw in the capital today, as was the result the last three times these sides have met.

In fact, West Ham haven't beaten Brighton in any of the last six meetings, with a 6-0 Championship win in 2012 their most recent victory.

The Seagulls do a love a goal at the London Stadium, however, and have scored eight times in Premier League there, their highest number of goals at an away ground.

  19. Early teams newspublished at 11:17 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

West Ham v Brighton (14:15 GMT)

West Ham forward Michail Antonio, who hasn't played in December because of a hamstring injury, will be assessed ahead of the game.

Midfielder Manuel Lanzini could return after sitting out the defeat at Chelsea on Monday with a hamstring strain.

Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey, who missed the draw with Sheffield United, has not yet recovered from a minor hamstring problem.

But the Seagulls have no new injuries ahead of the busy Christmas period.
