That's a big opportunity for Podence. With the technique he has got on his left foot he should be testing Hugo Lloris better than that, it was a comfortable save for Lloris.

  2. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Pedro Neto tries to juggle his way through a very crowded penalty area but Eric Dier is able to shrug him off and clear his lines. Who knew that speaking fluent Portuguese would come in so handy for Dier in the west midlands?

That's a decent chance then as a nod down lands for Daniel Podence but he can only smash a shot straight at Hugo Lloris.

  3. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Crazily enough, Tanguy Ndombele's goal was only the fourth Tottenham goal this Premier League season in which neither Harry Kane nor Son Heung-min were involved.

And Rui Patricio should have done better having only just seen it again. He was caught out of position.

  4. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Wolves are having most of the ball and look dangerous without really causing alarm, Jose would call it Spurs being in control without the ball. They are only ever two passes away from sending Son in on goal of course.

In the game immediately before lockdown in March, Tanguy Ndombele was hauled off at half-time during the match with Burnley and earned a stinging rebuke from Jose Mourinho.

It is amazing to see the difference in the midfielder.

Ndombele has been responsible for the two stand-out moments of this game so far.

Strange but true - Christian Gross is the new Schalke boss.

  8. Improving Wolvespublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wolves have been the better team in the last 10 minutes. Semedo has been doing well and the link-up between him and Adama Traore is working at the moment.

  9. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Spurs are playing two left-backs and it's a good job at the moment. Nelson Semedo and Adama Traore link up well again on that flank and Adama's cross is well cleared in the middle.

Wolves looking a real threat though.

  10. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Almost the leveller! Wolves are patient as they get it out wide to Nelson Semedo, he pulls the ball back to the near post and there's Fabio Silva. Ahead of his man, flashes in the shot, does everything right - just puts it the wrong side of the side-netting.

    Looked in for a second.

Get Involved #bbcfootballpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Hirsty official: Spurs can't string four passes together....20/21 Premier league champions! Don't think so.. from a Spurs fan.

Oliver Camp: I cannot believe the improvement in Ndombele this year. Spurs are 10x better with him than without. Glides with the ball. Brilliant.

  12. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

If this is a sign of things to come then Spurs have a real star on their hands in Tanguy Ndombele, he's having some half hour. He now exchanges a one-two with Harry Kane, playing a lovely pass while also pirouetting out of a tackle. Kane can't quite get through but the take and turn were top drawer.

  13. 'Hugely important'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2020

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Conor Coady is a hugely important defender for Wolves. He will not come off unless you have to carry him off, he is that kind of player.

  14. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Conor Coady isn't going to let 2020 beat him. He's up and back with us.

  15. ouch!

    Postpublished at 22 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

If Conor Coady is picking up injuries then we really do need to look at the schedule. He's down and having treatment on his left foot.

  16. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

It's taken him a while to settle in but THAT is what Spurs paid the money for. Sensational from Tanguy Ndombele, who wins the ball midway in his own half, bursts a challenge and leaves two men in his wake as he runs from box to box. That was Yaya-esque.

He rolls it to Sergio Reguilon on his left and he cannons a shot straight at Rui Patricio. The run though was out of this world.

  17. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Romain Saiss lines up the set-piece in the end and rather disappointingly puts it into the wall.

Wolves having a good spell of pressure here now though. Twice they get wingers into the area but twice they can't pick out a gold shirt.

    Good game this.

  18. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Spurs' defence make a mess of a Wolves corner as Conor Coady has all sorts of space at the far post. He tries to pick out a team-mate and can only loop a header into the arms of Hugo Lloris.

Both sides snap into tackles in midfield and it ends up as a Wolves free-kick just outside the D. Neves?

Looking for a quality centre-forward in January? That's going to break the bank.

Spurs now go close to a second as Tanguy Ndombele floats in a cross and Sergio Reguilon flicks a header wide.
