Chelsea get it over to Christian Pulisic on the left and he forces a smart save from Emiliano Martinez, who tips it over the bar.

Villa break down the left with Jack Grealish. He tries to tee up Anwar El Ghazi just inside the box but N'Golo Kante does really well to sprint back and make the interception.

Kai Havertz is robbed by John McGinn but N'Golo Kante wins it back immediately. Not happening for either team at the moment.

Anwar El Ghazi and Olivier Giroud both have a telling off and go in the book. Giroud had his foot high and El Ghazi wasn't happy about it.

Sahil Oberoi: I don't understand signing Havertz for £71 million, playing him out of position and then benching him for not doing well, especially when your team clearly lacks creativity. He has to start behind the striker, otherwise it's a huge waste of money.

Jack Grealish backheels it to Matt Cash under pressure from Mason Mount near the touchline and Villa win a throw-in.

But there's no way through for Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore.

Mason Mount plays a short corner with Callum Hudson-Odoi and gets it back. He drills it low across the six-yard area but Ollie Watkins deals with it.

The flag is up for offside when it's played back in and cleared off the line before Cesar Azpilicueta fires it into the net. Christian Pulisic was well off.

Ben Chilwell almost finds Olivier Giroud with another cross from the left. Kortney Hause gets there first.

You can see from Villa's heatmap this half the amount of defending they are having to do down that side where Chilwell is having a very good game.
