We've seen the fastest goal of the Premier League season - but not much else.

Conor Gallagher is West Brom's most threatening player. He's free inside the penalty area again but his latest attempt cannons off a Newcastle shirt and out for a corner.

Newcastle get themselves into a mess at the back trying to clear a cross and the ball drops invitingly for Conor Gallagher who drills through the legs of Jono Shelvey but it's just wide.

There's freshness, zip and energy from Newcastle. The enforced 15-day break from action has helped them.

It's taken 37 minutes but West Brom finally have an attempt on target, Karl Darlow down to gather a shot from distance by Matt Phillips.

West Brom are not out of this by any means. Steve Bruce will be slightly irritated his side have not pushed on after their fantastic start.

Steve Bruce judging by his body language is fairly comfortable with this, looking at his back four they're all set, they're okay they're not being caused many problems. Yes, West Brom can have the ball they can play they can do what they want but as long as Newcastle can defend that goal third they'll be okay.

It's Newcastle's turn to string together a few pretty passes. You can see why these two sides have not scored many this season. Newcastle have the lead but they need to be more ruthless.

West Brom go 1-0 down early in the game, they have worked their way back into it, they are having a lot of the ball but don't do much with it. It is like they are happy to keep the ball as though 10-12 touches gives you a goal.

That's awful. A promising West Brom move breaks down after Darnell Furlong fails to control a straight forward pass. West Brom are enjoying lots of possession but Newcastle still look the more threatening side.

This is better from the Baggies. They're enjoying perhaps their best spell of pressure but they still cannot test Karl Darlow who is enjoying a pretty comfortable shift. Matt Phillips manages to get a shot away but the less said about his attempt the better.

Free-kick to West Brom about 25 yards out. Karlan Grant is going to have a pop but Newcastle's black and white wall does its job and it's deflected behind for a corner.

When West Brom lose the ball it's a back five at times and it's quite flat. The midfield three are getting stretched across the park, that's why it's so easy. At the minute West Brom need to be a bit braver off the ball and press a bit higher because the midfield three can't cope with the midfield four of Newcastle.

Steve Bruce is on the touchline shouting orders. He wants his team to kick-on after a superb start.
