  2. 'The fans made a massive difference, they were fantastic'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    FT: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

    Fulham

Fulham boss Scott Parker speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "The fans were unbelievable today - what a difference it made. The energy when the players were warming up. This is a group of fans where for the biggest part of our season they weren't here to see it, going to Wembley and getting promoted and all those experiences they weren't here to share that.

"This is the first game they've come back into the stadium to see Premier League football and they've made a massive difference. They epitomise everything I speak about week in week out - what I say to my players and to the media, the fans showed that today and they were fantastic."

  3. 'Arteta needs a good performance'published at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    Arsenal v Burnley (19:15 GMT)

The problems seem to be stacking up for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta at the moment.

The more games his side lose, and the longer they continue to struggle to create chances, the more people are going to ask why Mesut Ozil is not in the Gunners team - he will be eligible to play in the Premier League again in January.

Since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed his new contract, his form has been indifferent, although you could say that he has been stuck out on the left wing rather than playing as a centre-forward so what are people expecting from him?

I would still back Arsenal to beat Burnley, but what Arteta really needs is a good performance from his team too. Some of them are coasting at the moment and they are not earning their corn.

That is not something you could ever accuse any Burnley players of. They are in the bottom three at the moment but I am expecting them to gradually climb away from trouble, partly because of their willingness to scrap.

    Prediction: 2-0

Dave: I reckon Fulham initially found the step up in class a shock to the system but recent performances have been much improved, so about time for some praise for Scott Parker, methinks.

Graeme: Oh how the Scott Parker naysayers are eating their words now! He was one of my favourite players during his career and , you know what, I think he might just be becoming one of my favourite managers!!

  5. 'It shows how far we've come'published at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

    Fulham

Fulham boss Scott Parker to BBC Sport: “I feel a bit disappointed. The players do as well. It shows how far we’ve come.

“There were two different halves. The first half, we were every bit of what we needed – commitment, energy, desire, passion. We showed a real quality and caused Liverpool problems.

“The second half panned out like everyone expected. Overall I’m very pleased.

“We came out of the blocks flying today. We showed our quality. We can play. I thought we did that very well in the first half.”

On whether they should have had a first-half penalty: “At real speed I didn’t think it was a penalty. I didn’t even contemplate it. But it’s gone to VAR asking him to check the monitor. I’ve seen it, I don’t understand how he hasn’t given a penalty. Their player had to hit my player’s foot to get the ball. I don’t understand how we can have a discussion about that penalty. I understand in real time but we have VAR.

“We were resilient today. We closed up. We’ve all seen late goals [from Liverpool], a real endeavour to score the winner but we stood strong.

“Last three games – Leicester, Manchester City and Liverpool – I don’t think anyone would have given us a chance. We’ve got four points from those three games that people wouldn’t have believed.”

  6. 'It doesn't help with the number of games'published at 19:02 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    FT: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: "In the first 30 minutes we were just not good. We could have lost the game in that period. After half an hour it was already better. The second half was good. We could have had more [goals].

"We are dealing with human beings and things like this happen. "Yesterday all the teams that played in the Champions League had a tough one. It's crazy. Maybe this was the weekend we felt it a little bit.

"It doesn't help with the number of games that we have to play the same players. There was a push definitely -100%.

"We move on. Tottenham is the next challenge."

  10. 'Foxes to have too much for Brighton'published at 18:55 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    Leicester v Brighton (19:15 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson

It was the same old story for Brighton on Monday. They played pretty well against Southampton but they lost.

That seems to happen a lot. The Seagulls play some decent stuff and make chances, but something is not quite clicking for them at the moment. Getting more than one goal a game is proving difficult and they don't seem to go long periods without conceding either, which is a worry.

Leicester, in contrast, are ticking along nicely at the top end of the table. I always think of them as being better when they are the away side, but they should have too much for Brighton.

    Prediction: 2-0

Arsenal have lost six of their past nine Premier League games.

The Gunners could lose four consecutive home league games for the first time since 1959, a sequence which included a 4-2 defeat by Burnley.

  13. 'A fantastic game'published at 18:48 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    FT: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

    Andy Reid
Ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was absolutely fantastic - how you like to see teams play. For a neutral to watch that game, the drive, the passion, the intensity and the will to win. Even at the end both teams were going for the win. Fulham in the first half they dominated with chances with second balls.

In the second half Liverpool, as champions, are not going to lay down they came back into the second half and played some decent stuff. They couldn't quite get a clear cut opportunity that they would've wanted to win the game and credit to them for coming back into it.

Jamie Vardy has scored 41 Premier League goals since Brendan Rodgers took charge of his first Leicester game on 3 March - eight more goals than any other player in this period.

The striker is set to play his 222nd Premier League match for the Foxes tonight, equalling Muzzy Izzet as Leicester's record appearance holder in the competition.

Asked in midweek and have to ask again: why did Klopp not rest his star players in the dead CL tie in Denmark? His team looked lethargic in the first half and he had to bring off key players in the second. For a manager who has complained so much about fixture scheduling it was a baffling series of decisions.

    Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to Sky Sports: “We didn’t get going until after the first 30 minutes. You can’t do that in the Premier League or you get punished – like we did.

“The good thing is we reacted well. We dominated and should have scored one or more two. I’m disappointed with the start, pleased with the reaction.

“We’ll have to look at it but it’s not like us.

“I don’t want to make excuses. I’ll let you talk about the amount of games teams are playing. We flew back from Denmark, prepared well. For whatever reason we didn’t start well. Maybe we could have won the game on another day.

“[At half-time Jurgen Klopp said] We need to start the half like we finished the first half. A few of us weren’t happy with the start. We gave everything in the second half. Fulham made it difficult to create chances.

“When you can’t win, don’t lose. But I felt we were good enough to get the three points.”

  17. 'Lots of positives'published at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    FT: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

    Fulham

Fulham's Bobby De Cordova-Reid to Sky Sports: "We're disappointed to concede in the fashion that we did but there are a lot of positives to take.

"Regarding my goal I got a clean strike on it. There are positives to take. The manner we conceded was a bit frustrating.

"It's nice coming out for the warm-up and hearing the clapping from the fans. It put smiles on our faces and it helped give us a boost.

"I haven't seen the penalty against us. It is what it is. We're doing well and we know what quality we have got in dressing room."

  18. 'It felt like real football again'published at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    FT: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool

Ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I was genuinely excited - I've done lots of games in lock-down with no fans and it can be a bit drab. I hope we can portray the excitement that was in the game because there was a lot of excitement today in the ground with the fans and the way they reacted to that goal. It felt like 'real' football again.

  19. Plenty at stakepublished at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

There's two games left today as Leicester host Brighton and Arsenal entertain Burnley.

With Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea all dropping points this weekend there is a big incentive to rack up a big W tonight for the Foxes.

Meanwhile, the pressure is on both Arsenal and Burnley to take the three points in their game.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate for a win after overseeing Arsenal's worst start to a league season since the early 1980s while a win for Burnley will move them out of the bottom three.
