BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

We will find out over the next 48 hours whether Greater Manchester - or any part of it - will be downgraded from Tier Three to Tier Two, which would allow 2,000 fans back to games in the area.

City have already contacted their season ticket holders to tell anyone interested in coming to the game against Newcastle on Boxing Day that they need to enter a ballot.

    Wolves 0-1 Chelsea

Wolves have reacted well to going behind after a snoozy start to the second half. Perhaps importantly, they've sent Adama Traore away to get oiled up.

Good run from Neto, just drives at the heart of the Chelsea defence. Takes a shot, scuffs it and Fabio Silva thinks he's got a simple tap in but he's two or three yards offside. Just goes far too early.

  4. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 55 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Chelsea

A clear call this one, no need for any controversy as Fabio Silva's strike is swiftly ruled out for offside. He taps in at the far post after a run and shot from Daniel Podence but the teenager was way offside.

We don't have any fans in here and there is a silence anyway but there was even more of a silence. Everybody looked for the referee, waiting for signal to happen, then it came through.

Brilliant on the left-hand side again, overlapping run and Olivier Giroud run in front of Willy Bolly catches Rui Patricio by surprise, drills it past the keeper and it's brilliant by Giroud. Great anticipation.

  6. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Chelsea

That goal was Chelsea's first shot on target of the game. Wolves have had two, but can they score twice without Raul Jimenez?

Chelsea top the table on goals scored as it stands.

  7. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Chelsea

It was a fine cross and connection but Wolves' keeper will have to be disappointed with that one. Beaten for pace.

GOAL - Wolves 0-1 Chelseapublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2020

    Olivier Giroud (49 mins)

It's an assist for the goalline technology cameras!

Timo Werner finds Ben Chilwell on the overlap and his cross is a wicked one, swept in to the near post. Olivier Giroud connects with a thumping volley and while Rui Patricio gets to it, he can't keep hold of the ball and it squirms away from his grasp.

He swipes it clear but it has just crossed the line...

    Wolves 0-0 Chelsea

I wonder how many people from New York have ever even been to Wolverhampton before, never mind play for them.

Owen Otasowie gets his head to a free-kick but he can't steer it towards the goal.

  10. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Chelsea

Reece James has a wild swipe over the bar from 25 yards as Chelsea look to make a quick start.

Robert Carter: Chelsea's game is crying out for Jorginho to up the tempo.

Oloye: You like to see how much confident Zouma has got since playing alongside Thiago Silva.

As a Chelsea fan I'm still not believing the hype around us. Let's not forget that this season we haven't yet scored against a team in the top half of the league, let alone beaten one.

The post-match interview positions have been moved at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

Since the game restarted in June, they have taken place on the pitch, which admittedly is a bit chilly in December.

Now they will be held in the bar area behind the press box, which is obviously not being used at present.

Might not be any warmer in there - but it will be dry.

    Wolves 0-0 Chelsea

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Leeds and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's been a brilliant game so far. I think with both sets of players, there is so much respect for each other that they can't drop their standards at all because they will be punished.

I think it has been a really interesting battle tactically because of the systems both teams are playing. I think there will be goals in the second half.

  18. 'City have to win this one'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2020

Manchester City v West Bromwich Albion (20:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

The Manchester derby was a nothing game but, from Manchester City's perspective, a point at Old Trafford is never a bad result.

They have to win this one, though. West Brom will have a plan to sit in, defend and keep City out, but I don't see that working for very long.

    Lawro's prediction: 3-0

Rui Patricio was rooted to the line, he didn't move at all! What a ball in and what a header from Kurt Zouma. Totally unmarked and it's that style of the jump, the knees come up nice and high.
