Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We played some brilliant football between their first goal and their second goal - the end was a bit too uncomfortable for my liking."
On Dean Henderson's mistake: "When we conceded the first goal, you sit back and think 'this is a test for you son' - show you are learning and maturing, he handled himself really well and made an important save that saved two points for us.
"Finally Anthony (Martial) gets off the mark this season. We need our three forwards to score goals and we are a much better team when they're firing.
"We can't get our heads too far ahead, but I am happy the players might be thinking that way (about the title) because that means recovery, focus is better and those little margins mean a lot."

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was always going to be a tough game. Sheffield United fought for the whole 90 minutes. We don't want to be holding on in games like this but we take the points and move on to the next game."

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, speaking to BBC Sport: "I'm happy with the manner of the performance. I wasn't on Sunday night, I didn't like what I saw then. I think anyone who has watched us would say we have been competitive but that is not enough. Tonight was about a performance if I'm being honest, we needed one from the players and we asked some questions from some world class players.
"Manchester United are an iconic global football club, one of the top three in the world. There is an enormous gulf between us and we have to try and bridge that by putting in a performance which I felt we did.
"We are a little disappointed with the manner of a couple of the goals but my players had a go.
"I wanted my team to be aggressive and have an intent about our play and I think we did. We had to be brave when we committed to the press and we were.
"We had a fantastic game against them last year where it was 3-3. We showed a lot of character. I wanted to see a performance and I did see that and I'll sleep well tonight.
"I am a free manager anyway, I don't worry about what I can't control. I don't worry about my job. I keep coming into work and doing it to my best of my ability. There is a huge gulf, people don't understand what Sheffield United are about when they talk about people's futures. I have been in the game long enough to know that that question will be asked. There is a story to every club and we accept that."
How about you, Blades fans?

Sheffield United
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder: "We started the game off on the front foot. I was pleased with the start we had. We had to make a decision early on because of the injury to Sander Berge. That was a disappointing loss for us.
"We'll try and bring a player or two in [in January]. Before then there's a few games to play.
"I was pleased with the spirit. Sunday was pretty passive. Tonight wasn't passive - it was more of a Sheffield United performance.
"There are examples of teams going 12, 13, 14 games without a win. I feel we should be on more points but the reality is we are there for a reason. Tonight has given myself and the players a belief that if we do play in the manner we played - especially out of possession - that there is something left in this season for us.
"I will stick my head on the pillow tonight knowing the team has left everything out there."

Manchester United
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to BBC Sport: "It wasn't comfortable at all towards the end. We made it difficult for ourselves again after a slow start but then we played some brilliant stuff. When they get that second goal it's not comfortable at all.
"We have got good players and today we found the spaces behind them really well. Why are we winning away from home? Maybe teams...I don't know, I don't know.
"He [Dean Henderson] dillied and dallied on the ball for the first goal. We saw the good and bad from him today because he made a great save towards the end.
"We need to sharpen up at home. Sunday [Leeds at home] will be a massive test for us. It's a big derby for us. We've been waiting for years to get this game on."
Lovely.

James Beswick: On the topic of anagrams... Manchester United is an anagram of 'Unchristened Meat'. Manchester City is 'Synthetic Cream'..
Sheffield United 2-3 Manchester United
Sheffield United have won fewer points after their first 13 games of a league season than any other team in English top-flight history (one).

Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I don't think we started slowly, we knew what to expect, they would fight for their life. Unluckily we conceded a goal with a small mistake but were capable of turning the game, scoring three goals.
"It's a very important three points for us, takes us closer to the top teams. They don't deserve to only have one point this season, but that's football.
"If we continue this way. It's going to be tight sometimes but we have to show our quality every single game. I believe we have the quality to fight for the title, if we are going to win, I don't know."

Manchester United
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "It could have been more comfortable. We were a little sloppy at 3-1 up. The corner that led to the second goal wasn't a corner but when it goes in it was really difficult because they are a handful."
On Dean Henderson's performance: "The good, bad and the ugly, maybe in a different order. He is always learning. He has probably been looking forward to coming back here and to get from that start shows his character for the rest of the game.
"I thought all three goals were excellent. I wanted to test them here today, we knew it was going to be a physical test. The fight, we are going to get kicked. It is one of these games the boys will learn from.
"We need to sort the home form. It is not like it is home and away with these conditions without fans. We should be more used to the Old Trafford pitches than these pitches. Sunday [against Leeds] is a massive game, we have been waiting for years and we will be ready for it."

Plenty of fight from Sheffield United towards the end there, and from Chris Wilder himself when he engaged in some classic finger-pointing with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It might be a long season ahead for the Blades, but they aren't giving up yet. Wilder would never allow that to happen.

Sheffield United
Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick: "I thought we deserved something from the game. We were on the front foot and started well. We had chances but it was concentration at times, we have to learn from it and take some positives. We are not in a position we want to be but we have to take positives.
"At this level you get punished if you don't take your chances. We were in the game for the whole 90 minutes.
"We had a big talk after the Southampton game as players. We knew we were not performing and we set some things straight with a long chat in the dressing. I feel we did that, if fans were here I think we might have had a bit more momentum at the end.
"Every game until the end of the season. We are not giving up. We still believe once that first wins comes we can build something."

I have said all along, Manchester United have a good chance but need to strengthen in January if they are going to win the Premier League.
If Dean Henderson doesn't make a save at the end they come away with a point - they have to switch on for the full 90 minutes.
They need a centre half, a presence and a leader. Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig would be a perfect signing.

Don't give up and all that but I mean...

Manchester United
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford: "Once again we have done well to respond to going behind. We scored three goals but if we don't kill the game off it's going to be tough. Sheffield United fought and fought for 90 minutes.
"The referee played advantage [for his second goal] and that's probably why we get the goal because there was a foul earlier in the move.
"We have to perform better at home and pick up more points.
"We're just taking it one game at a time. There are going to be a lot of ups and downs. We'll see where we are later in season."

A good result for Manchester United then...

Robin: Ole out, because he constantly displays favouritism for his Scandinavian comrade Lindelöf who constantly plays terribly. Not good enough for United. Never was.
Sho: Poor in the first 20 and last 10. In between that the play was really good but you have to be more ruthless. Settling at 3-1 instead of going for more goals and look what happened at the end.
James Beswick: Incredible run of away form. Some credit has to go to the driver of the team bus, someone is doing a great job at the wheel.
