GOAL: Cardiff 1-0 Birminghampublished at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    Robert Glatzel (10 mins)

Great start for Cardiff and it's all about the run down the right from Harry Wilson.

The Liverpool loanee tees up Robert Glatzel who makes no mistake slotting home.

Earlier, Wilson had missed a key header from close range. The very next attack he makes amends.

    M'boro 0-0 Luton

And now we have had a flurry of chances at the Riverside.

Middlesbrough have a deflected effort sail just wide, but moments later the Hatters have a great opportunity to take the lead.

A scrappy corner eventually falls to Sonny Bradley, but the defender can only poke the ball wide.

  3. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

Finally something for Derby keeper David Marshall to stick his teeth into.

First he punches away a free-kick after the ball was headed up in the air by a Rams defender, then he races to the edge of his area to punch away a cross.

Swansea are still dominating the game, but the hosts are holding firm.

    M'boro 0-0 Luton

Five minutes gone at the Riverside. Derby were already 1-0 up at this stage.

We haven't had any chances to shout about just yet. Still, it's early days.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

Derby make their first change of the evening.

Duane Holmes comes on for Martyn Waghorn.

Fresh legs should keep the pressure up on the Swans when they have the ball.

Time is running out for the visitors to get back into the game.

First booking of the evening as Andre Ayew gets a yellow for an off-the-ball tangle with Derby centre-back Matt Clarke.

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

Swansea are still having more of the ball and probing.

But Derby keeper David Marshall is still yet to make a meaningful save.

There's a break in play after Derby left-back Lee Buchanan clashes heads with Swansea forward Andre Ayew while challenging for a header.

    Both players need treatment.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

    Another change for the Swans.

Striker Jamal Lowe is replaced by Jordon Garrick.

  13. Warnock boasts strong Luton recordpublished at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    Middlesbrough v Luton (19:00 GMT)

    Neil WarnockImage source, Rex Features

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock has never lost a league match against Luton since his first season in the Football League in 1987-88 (P10 W4 D6).

Boro have been in patchy form, winning two and losing three of their last five. But a victory here would see Warnock's side go just two points off the play-offs.

Luton are a point further back in 12th and start hat-trick hero James Collins up top.

The forward was superb in the Hatters' 3-0 win over Preston on Saturday. Can he net another tonight?

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

    Better from Swansea.

Andre Wisdom is in the right place to clear a dangerous cross into the Derby box.

    Steve CooperImage source, Rex Features

Steve Cooper's side are asking more questions of the hosts now after their first-half performance was well below their usual standards.

Can they find a way to unlock the Derby defence?

  16. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

Swansea are still busy probing but can't find a way through the Rams defence.

The hosts are getting back in numbers when needed.

There's a break in play as Derby right-back Nathan Byrne needs a moment to get back to his feet after a clash with Swans sub Ryan Manning, but he's fine to carry on.

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

It's been a slightly scrappy start to the second half.

Derby are still pressing the Swans well when the visitors have possession.

There is more urgency from the Welsh club though.

  18. Cardiff have upper handpublished at 18:40 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    Cardiff v Birmingham (19:00 GMT)

    Neil HarrisImage source, Rex Features

All the stats point to a home win in South Wales tonight.

Cardiff have won five of their last seven home league matches against Birmingham since a 2-1 defeat in 2008-09.

And the West Midlands side have only tasted victory in two of their last 15 league matches against the Bluebirds (D7 L6).

Neil Harris' Cardiff were thoroughly beaten by fierce rivals Swansea at the weekend and will be looking to put things right.

Meanwhile, a win for Blues and Aitor Karanka's side could be 12 points clear of the drop.

  19. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

First chance of the second half as Martyn Waghorn cuts inside from the right flank, but the Rams forward sends his left-footed effort slicing across goal and well wide.

  20. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Derby 2-0 Swansea

Kyle Naughton, Jake Bidwell and Jay Fulton are the trio who have been hauled off for the visitors.

It looks like the Welsh side have ditched wing-backs and switched to a back-four for the second half.

    Will it spark a comeback?
