They need to stop conceding goals and start scoring. The strikers aren't getting goals, so can the midfielders and defenders get some like last season?

It's surprising, they were so difficult to break down last season. They need to get that belief.

As a whole Sheffield United have been a victim of their own success - they hugely over achieved last season. We could see that with the lock down and then coming back after the break they didn't have any kind of form and they've struggled this season.

If you look at the squad in general it is the squad that were promoted from League One - yes they spent £100m over the course of two seasons but they needed the investment and the quality added.

These players now are the same as last season and they were putting the chances away - goals win games. They need to clean up at the back, stop goals going in. But they're always engaged - if you look at the games this season it's only usually been by one goal that they've lost by, some in the last minute.

They've not been drummed twos and threes so they are in games they're just not clinical enough.

The Blades are only the third team in top-flight history to remain winless at the turn of the year, and the first for 118 years.

Chris Wilder's side could also set a club record by going 20 league games without a victory, which includes three fixtures from last season.

Sheffield United have 16-year-old Antwoine Hackford on a depleted substitutes bench and are giving Jayden Bogle his first Premier League start since joining from Derby County.

Earlier this week the Blades said they had recorded "a number of positive coronavirus tests" after the latest round of testing.

"We have to keep going and rolling with the punches," says boss Chris Wilder.

"The beginning of the second half was our worst moment in the game. And in the end, it was again positive.

"There are two aspects that unbalanced the game. The opponents' forwards were very damaging and difficult to contain. We made some unforced errors which facilitated their attack but we had good offensive production. What we needed to do was not lose the ball in our own half.

"There was a lot of danger on the second balls and on the set-pieces. We could have aspired to a closer game.

"We have already gone through similar moments like this and there are improvements that are needed of course. The ones against Chelsea and Man Utd - this game was clearly better. But there are steps we need to make that we haven't yet made."

Very good win for Spurs, exactly how they would want to start the new year.

Three scored, a clean sheet. The red card for Doherty will be a little bit of a disappointment.

It was perfect for Jose Mourinho's team. He likes to defend deep and Leeds gave Spurs the spaces to play into.

On Harry Kane and Son Heung-min's partnership: "Of course, the understanding is good and against Leeds it was important to have that ability in attack. They stay man-to-man so if you stay static you give them an easy job. That movement of Harry Kane and Sonny in the finishing positions fit well.

"I think in the Premier League there are many good players everywhere even in clubs where you don't believe they can have great players. But I have to say that Sonny and Harry are doing special things this season.

"I want goals coming from other players and I want them to feel like they can express themselves. We had Toby [Alderweireld] of course in set-plays. We have played in other positions to score. We have players from other positions appearing in finishing positions which is what I want from them."

On 'easier' fixtures: "When we played the people who are considered the top six people say easier games are coming but I of course don't believe it. Leeds are difficult and Aston Villa is my favourite team in the Premier League at the moment. I enjoy watching them, they have good players and very well coached. This is up next."

On games getting cancelled for Covid-19: "I go back to the initial rules of if you have 14 players available you have to play. I don't see another reason for not doing it. I think every club does the best for their players to keep them all safe but then there are moments in private lives which you cannot control. Not everyone can be blamed so we have to carry on. If somebody has some positives, we have to play."
