The young striker rounds the goalkeeper and, despite being clipped, stays on his feet, but then runs out of room to shoot. He cuts the ball back to Martin Boyle who clips his shot from the edge of the box over the bar.

Gullan might have got a penalty had he stayed on his feet...

Finally a decent attempt from Hibernian! Ryan Porteous pings a pearler of a pass to Jamie Gullan who jinks inside and forces Neil Parry to push the ball over the bar.

Then, from the resulting corner, Paul Hanlon ends up side-footing over the bar from five yards!

St Johnstone really should be ahead. A quick counter attack cuts Dunfermline open, David Wotherspoon puts in a fine ball for an unmarked Murray Davidson who is five yards out, but he somehow heads over the bar.

Two good chances for Dunfermline with Dom Thomas beginning to make an impact.

First, he sends in a dangerous free-kick which goalkeeper Zander Clark has to divert clear for a corner.

Then he skips past his marker on the left and delivers a great ball across goal but no-one in black and white can get a touch on it.

Decent little spell for Alloa, with Kevin Cawley, Stefan Scougall, and Alan Trouten combining neatly. They can't pick an incisive pass though.

The chances keep coming from St Johnstone. Murray Davidson collects on the edge of the box and picks his spot, but the ball hits his own team-mate, which takes all the power from the strike.

Melker Hallberg curls a free-kick about a foot wide of the post. The Swede got it up and over the wall, but it didn't trouble Neil Parry in the Alloa goal.

All Hibs, no goals at the Indodrill. Rivals the Tony Macaroni for best stadium name in Scotland, of course.

Anyway, Paul Hanlon glances a header wide after a free-kick was delivered from the right. Decent chance for the Hibs defender.

Hibs' Drey Wright is already screaming for a penalty after going down in the box. There was an Alloa leg in there but it looked really soft. It was Martin Boyle who cut the ball back to Wright.

Good start from Hibs, though. They're knocking the ball about at pace.

David Wotherspoon sends a great corner into the box and Shaun Rooney's glancing header is just over the bar, as St Johnstone continue to keep the heat on Dunfermline.

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson tells BBC Scotland: "We've been on a great run, got beat on Saturday, looking to bounce back tonight.

"It's going to be a tough game. Mentally we need to make sure we're right.

"It would be brilliant if the crowds were here because I think it would be a great atmosphere. As a player you would love to play in this."
