    St Mirren v Rangers (20:00)

To reach the last four, Steven Gerrard's men will have to overcome a St Mirren side who are on an unbeaten run of their own.

Saturday's win away to Motherwell extended their run to nine games, and manager Jim Goodwin knows all about this competition, having captained the Paisley club to League Cup glory back in 2013.

Goodwin's men have already upset the odds to eliminate Aberdeen in the previous round, but can his players take it up a level to halt a rampant Rangers side?

  2. Gerrard gunning for cup glorypublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    St Mirren v Rangers (20:00)

Rangers' last League Cup success was back in March 2011, when Nikica Jelavic's extra-time goal secured an Old Firm win against Celtic at Hampden almost a decade ago.

The Ibrox club also won the league that season, but they are yet to win a major honour since. However, Steven Gerrard will be looking to change that this season as he aims for his first trophy as a manager.

Sunday's 2-1 win at Tannadice was the latest in a run of five victories in all competitions, and his relentless side are yet to taste defeat this season in 27 games.

Will this be the season Rangers finally get their hands back on silverware?
