I have never seen a softer two yellow cards. Very unfortunate. I'm not so sure he deserves to be sent off. Could he be given the benefit of the doubt?

Ryan Fraser has been sent off for the first time in 128 Premier League appearances. Newcastle are not happy as the sides go off, surrounding referee Andy Madley.

Sheffield United haven't played as well as that for a half this season, I don't think.

They may not have a better chance to win a game.

Well then! Ryan Fraser's Newcastle career has been more stop than start and he's now picked up two yellows in no time at all to be sent off.

Silly challenge, David McGoldrick is just laying the ball back and Fraser arrives late, catching him high.

Callum Wilson fouls last man Jayden Bogle as Newcastle clear a corner and the England man lobs into the back of the net. He knew it wasn't going to count.

And now Jayden Bogle has a shot pawed away by Karl Darlow, and Ryan Fraser is booked for bringing down John Fleck. It's all going off.

Oh WHAT a tackle! That's brilliant. Man and ball, hopes and dreams!

Ollie Burke is in behind the Newcastle defence, he's pulling the trouble and Federico Fernandez flies in, the last of the last-ditch. He takes it all, leaving Burke in a heap. Perfectly timed.

The Blades still nearly score though, the ball flies across goal and John Lundstram is inches away from turning it in.

Isaac Hayden heads on the Newcastle corner and it's bundled away at the far post. VAR has a quick look for a handball shout but there's nothing there.

That was almost the Bruce gameplan come good though. One pass from Sean Longstaff cuts the Blades open and Newcastle have a two-man overload down the right.

Deandre Yedlin sensibly gets it to Callum Wilson as soon as he possibly can and his shot would be on target but Ben Osborn recovers superbly to block it away.

Terrific pace from Ollie Burke, who runs outside the Newcastle defence down the left wing, then comes inside and beats them for pace again to get a shot off. It's blocked and squirts away, just wide of David McGoldrick.

Can the home side make this spell of pressure pay?

Agreed. A win is a win and the one at the weekend seems to have lifted confidence.

There's so much space between the Newcastle midfield and Callum Wilson. Do you need a Longstaff, Hayden and a Hendrick in there?

A great spell from Sheffield United. They just keep coming. Great pressure and this is as good as I have seen Sheffield United for a while.

Chris Wilder will have to be delighted with this, his side are playing some really nice football now. Triangles, offloads, give and gos, Newcastle are chasing shadows as the Blades look to pull them apart.

'All' that is missing is the final finish as John Fleck has a shot charged down.

Ivaile: If Sheffield United win today, I wouldn't put it past them if they still stay up. They've looked very bright so far.

Andrew Bond: Newcastle are playing a team who are bottom of the league with no wins, have scored only eight goals and conceded twenty nine. Yet Steve Bruce has decided to play NINE defensive minded players. And yet pundits still think he’s doing a good job...

And now a good chance for Sheffield United! Ethan Ampadu, up as the overlapping centre-back on the left, chops onto his right foot and bends in a fine ball to the back post.

David McGoldrick climbs well and gets there, Karl Darlow is out into his face and the Republic of Ireland man can only head over the top.

Ooooh and Newcastle should be ahead! They've barely had an attack but Federico Fernandez is able to clump in a ball from the right, Callum Wilson beats his man to the ball and smashes in the header - but puts it wide.

Hands on heads all round.
