Marcus: Wilder continues to baffle me. Sheffield United splash out £23.5m on Rhian Brewster. They've scored eight goals in the league. Why not start Brewster as surely he's their best attacking threat?

Callum Wilson has been directly involved in 63% of Newcastle’s away goals in the Premier League this season (5/8), scoring three goals and registering two assists.

He's also scored as many Premier League goals this season as Sheffield United.

Anthony: Admire the fact that Sheffield United have stuck with Chris Wilder through this difficult period. I feel their best chance of performing a miracle come May is with Wider. You rarely get anywhere with knee-jerk decisions.

Jaime Lunn: Steve Bruce once more picks a side with limited attacking options. Looks like we want to attack down Sheffield right side and put a clear 7-3-1 formation in their way.

Derby have the fewest wins in a season in the Premier League with one - and that did come against Newcastle.

No side has ever gone a season without a single win.

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Sheffield United have finally won a game this season at the 19th attempt, overcoming League One side Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Blades will look at this one as winnable too, especially compared with their upcoming Premier League games against Tottenham (h), Manchester United (a) and Manchester City (a). They have got to go for it.

Newcastle are on a poor run themselves right now, taking only two points from their past six games and going out of the FA Cup at Arsenal.

I know Newcastle don't do all-out attack whoever they play but surely they won't just sit back at Bramall Lane? I wouldn't understand that, because this is obviously a very winnable game for them too.

I don't think there will be much in it, but I am going with the Blades here. They are bound to break their duck in the league at some stage, and at least they will have a bit of confidence after the weekend.

I know people will say it was "only" Bristol Rovers they beat, but a win's a win when you are in a situation like they are.

    Prediction: 2-1

Everton's attacking threat tonight has been significantly hampered by the absence of top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 11-goal striker has a hamstring injury and with fellow forward Richarlison a doubt to face Wolves, Carlo Ancelotti says his side will need to find other ways to score.

"Without an important player like Dominic we have to be able to replace him in a different way. We have to adapt to this," he said.

"For sure we will be less dangerous on crosses, but maybe we can be more dangerous with the final pass."

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce on the return of Karl Darlow to goalkeeping duties after being rested for the FA Cup defeat by Arsenal: "Quite simply he [Karl] doesn't deserve to lose his place. We know Martin Dubravka is a very, very good keeper. It's one of those awful decisions you have to make."

On the changes in attack: "We've had a gruelling schedule. Well publicised problems - it's been difficult with people physically-wise. We've had a little juggle. Also the fact it's the fifth game in two weeks - important to rotate and have a certain freshness."

On Allan Saint-Maximin's progress: "He's just back training with us now. We hope he can hit the ground running. We've missed him in the attacking part of the pitch."

Kris Jefferson: What a ridiculously negative line up from Bruce, 5 at the back with only 2 true attacking players (Wilson and Fraser), against a team who haven't won in the league this season....

Matthew Noble: To aid their slim hopes of survival Sheff United need to beat us tonight to have any hope of staying up otherwise it's looking like mission impossible. I have a gut feeling they will win tonight we have history (remembering Derby vs us PL)

Seventeen games played. No wins. Two points. Twelve points from safety.

It's been an awful few months for Sheffield United, who have made the longest winless start to a Premier League season, beating QPR's 16-game run at the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

They've got some way to go to match Derby County's record run of 32 games in the Premier League without a win - but just how bad has this campaign been?

"No excuses, I'm looking forward to watching my team tonight.

"We have to pick points up. I've not looked at the fixture list, it's about getting that elusive first win and it will give us a boost."
