    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

    Steve Sidwell
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The strikers for both teams - Antonio for West Ham and Wood and Barnes for Burnley are going to be vital today.

Not only in terms of goals but also in providing a platform for the others to build on and bring them into play.

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

First chance of the game as Burnley take advantage of a poor clearance by Craig Dawson and Josh Brownhill has a pop from distance. A good hit but straight at Lukasz Fabianski.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Leeds 0-0 Brighton

Ezgjan Alioski fires a dangerous ball in from the left. Rodrigo anticipates it, sprints towards the near post to try and get a touch on it but Lewis Dunk does just enough to put him off. It rolls inches past Rodrigo and out on the far side.

Not sure what to expect from West Ham. They were certainly a much more entertaining side with Michail Antonio in their starting XI early on in the season, so it is good that he is back today. He's not had much of a look in yet with Burnley having the better of the early play, although no chances for either side yet.

  5. 'Leeds are dangerous on the counter attack'published at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Leeds 0-0 Brighton

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Brighton are going through a bad time - still playing nice football but they're not winning football matches.

Normally Leeds fly out of the blocks but they're playing very slow and it's easy for Brighton to get that shape of a back five at the moment but Leeds are very dangerous on the counter-attack.

    Leeds 0-0 Brighton

Alexis Mac Allister wins it back for Brighton on the left but they quickly lose out in the middle.

Both teams just getting a feel for the ball at the moment. The pitch is definitely a bit rough so they are going to have to get used to the bobble.

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

Burnley have been improving but are looking for consistency as a win is often followed by a defeat in recent games. They have started well as a dangerous ball into the box is headed away by Craig Dawson.

The pitch looks a bit worse for wear. Well, it's that or my TV is dirty. Hopefully the former...

Adam Webster lays it off to Leandro Trossard on the right but his cross is cleared away by Liam Cooper.

  11. 'Haller never looked happy at West Ham'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

West Ham v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

    Steve Sidwell
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

If you look at the team David Moyes has put out today it's a team that he knows very well - that he trusts, there's continuity in it. There'll be a few new additions in terms of signings that he'll want to get over the line but it has to be the right player.

If you look at some of the signings over recent years they've not been West Ham players they've not fit the bill and if you look at Sebastien Haller he never looked settled or happy. He looked sad even when he scored some spectacular goals. The type of player is important and it has to fit what Moyes is trying to build.

  12. 'We need to find our spirit'published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    Wolves

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker: "There's no excuses. We have been unlucky with the goals we conceded - two penalties - but there can be no excuses.

"We have to demand more from ourselves and finish our opportunities. You can't win the game if you don't take your chances. They didn't create much apart from the goals.

"If you look at the table we are not where we were in the last two years, you could say this is a difficult period for us with tough games coming up.

"We have to stick together and get that winning mentality back. If you look at our squad we have great players, we need to find that spirit."

  13. 'Too early to tell'published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom manager Sam Allardyce to BBC Sport: "Only two disappointing moments for me were the two quick goals we conceded when we didn't look like we were going to concede.

"Defending set-plays has been one of our few strengths this season and we conceded two today.

"Overall it was a fantastic victory. It was the amount of chances we created which pleased me most. I haven't seen us create that many chances.

"A win was very important at this moment in time. The attitude, work-rate and determination of the players, that's brought us a big, big victory.

"We've got to see what affect that has on the team. Can we take that positive into West Ham on tueasday?

"I have to give a big thanks to Hal Robson-Kanu. When he came on, there's nothing better than to see your player run into the corner. He's only done one training session in tge last 10 weeks. He's on oxygen at the moment.

"Too early to tell [whether they'll stay up]. The key factor is at the end of January what we have achieved in terms of recruitment. That will be a better indication."

  14. Nuno not hanging aroundpublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Molineux

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo had finished his media engagements before Sam Allardyce was done with his broadcast commitments.

"We are disappointed we didn’t achieve what we wanted," he said.

"We are not in a good moment and these are tough moments for us but my confidence in the players won’t go away."

  15. 'We could have had four or five'published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom midfielder Robert Snodgrass to BBC Sport: "Over the moon. Great feeling. The dressing room is rocking.

"We've got a great bunch of lads. Sometimes you don't need get the credit you deserve. We got what we deserved today - three points. We fought for each other.

"We could have had four or five today.

"There's no panic stations. We've got a great team spirit. It's an honest bunch of lads who would run through brick walls for each other."

  16. Big Sam wants marginal gainspublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Sam Allardyce: "In the vast majority of that performance the plan, and the way the lads carried out the tactics was excellent. It's the best I've seen us in possession since I've been here.

"Apart from slipping up on a set-piece which put us on the back foot I'd have to say the lads were excellent. You could have felt the heads go down when we were behind but they came boucing back. We created other chances after going ahead which would have made it even better and then defended well at the end.

"It's even better for the club and the fans because we've beat our rivals in the black country derby. We look forward to gaining a bit of confidence now.

"Wolves let a lot of goals in on set pieces so we felt we could exploit that. We created more from open play than in any game since I've been here.

"I'm asking the players to improve ther overall fitness and technique by 1% - add that all up and it's a big improvement. I'm asking for everyone to do that little bit more and be more consistent."

  18. 'Disappointing and frustrated'published at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo to BBC Sport: "Disappointing, frustrated with the way we played and the result.

"The beginning of the second half, we started very poorly.

"Two penalties and a throw-in [were West Brom's goals]. We knew we required better defending. We must rectify it and do better."

Nuno also revealed the decision to replace Conor Coady was tactical and not because of an injury.

  19. 'It means a lot to our fans'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    Wolves

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo: "We didn't do a good game or achieve a good result. It means a lot for us and our fans. We didn't do what we should do defensively.

"The start of the second half was very bad. Conceding goals makes our task very hard. We wanted to control the game and be aggressive in defence and we didn't do it.

"We knew that West Brom were trying from throw-ins, long balls and set pieces and we didn't defend well. Coady came off - options, options. It was a simple decision.

"We had chances and require better finishing. It's very hard against a team that defends so well with men behind the ball.

"We are all disappointed. We are aware it's not a good moment for us, we have to react to it and work hard.

"We think that a back four is better for us with the players we have, it is time to analyse and see what the next step forwards is."

  20. 'We need that tough love'published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Wolves 2-3 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom midfielder Romaine Sawyers to BT Sport: "It's massive. If there was one game to change our season, this is the game. It's the one fans look forward to the most.

"We had seven days with the gaffer [Sam Allardyce]. This was the first time really on the training ground, getting back to basics. The infrastructure of his team showed today.

"He's a bit tough on us but it's not a happy situation we're in so we need that tough love.

"I was a little boy when it [the great escape] happened. To go and do that again this year would be amazing."
