Leicester 2-0 Southampton
Leicester City
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers to BT Sport: "A great win for us. The first 25 minutes I thought we were socially distancing, we didn't get within two metres of them.
"We were too passive, not aggressive enough which wasn't like us. But then we started to press the game better and it allowed us to sustain attacks more.
"Second half we were much better and should have scored more than two goals. At the same time we defended well."
On James Maddison's celebration: "[We're] trying to treat it as a positive by saying we can be creative. Instead of seeing it as a negative saying you can't celebrate - you can, just in a different way.
"Football brings such great joy to people. It's such a really, really hard time - off the back of Christmas. January is always a tough month for people. If they can get some sort of relief from a good competitive game and seeing players celebrating in the right way that's important."

Leicester City
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers: "It's a very good win against a good team, we were too passive at the start, we took social distancing to the letter and didn't get close to them.
"After that we had some sustained attacks and ended up getting a brilliant goal. At half time we had to reiterate the importance of fighting, you have to fight for every result and Southampton keep going.
"We were outstanding second half and should have scored more goals. We did the dirty work much better and Harvey Barnes showed again that he is a finisher now."
On Maddison's celebration: "I said to them there is lots of negativity around it but see it as a positive and be creative. Supporters still want to see players celebrate, the happiness, so be creative with it.
"Fofana was on a yellow card and the last thing we wanted was to go down to 10 men. He wasn't happy but that's OK - that's my job."

Leicester City
Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel: "They are a very good side. We have to win ugly and it was today. It wasn't pretty. We dug in. It was good to see we can win that way.
"I don't look at the table. It doesn't mean anything at this stage. We'll see when it comes to the business end.
"It's a big couple of days for the club. It was important to start with three points. The league is so tight that six points can be the difference between first or second and seventh or eighth."

Southampton
More from Ralph Hasenhuttl: "We did our best with the options we have. We have nine injured but we are fighting for everything.
"A point would not have been deserved today. We did the maximum we could do but it was not enough.
"I am proud of my team. It's tough at the moment, we have another injury today with Will Smallbone. We need players back as soon as possible.
"It is a strange season, I have never had so many injuries but it's a tough schedule with no pre-season and there is no time to worry about it."

Southampton
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl: "It's never nice to lose a game but we had chances. We hit the bar, we fought with everything we have.
"We are definitely a team that is never giving up. The quality of the opponent was better than ours today.
"The first goal, you don't shoot at goal like that every day, it was fantastic from Maddison. We had good chances but we couldn't finish and that was the difference.
"It doesn't look good at the moment, we have a lot of injuries and not many alternatives. The good news is we have 29 points and they don't take them away from us."

Southampton
Southampton midfielder Stuart Armstrong to BT Sport: "It was disappointing to go in one down at half-time. We had a few chances. I think the game was evenly matched but they took their chance.
"The game at points was there for us but you expose yourself to conceding another at the end.
"There are positives to take from the game but it's disappointing to come away with nothing.
"There were options going forward. We created chances.
"We have got a lot of games coming up. We have a lot of young players - it's good to see them get game-time."

Leicester City
Leicester midfielder James Maddison on BT Sport: "[On his socially distant celebration] If little things like that are what we need to keep football going then so be it. We have been told to stop gatherings of people and I tried to make it light hearted.
"Footballers, we get a lot of stick and it's nice to put a lighter note on it. I don't think you will find one person in the country who wants football to stop.
"I hope Gareth Southgate had his mask on - it's nice to have him here. I want more international football, I've had a taste.
"It was a good Premier League game, tightly-contested. The 9-0 always gets mentioned but we don't like it, we need to forget about it. We took three points off each other last season, they beat us here.
"It's nice to be second in the table but last year we petered off in the new year so the next few months will be tough."

Excellent game.
Harvey Barnes (90 mins)

And in fact that's Jamie Vardy off - on comes Kelechi Iheanacho.
Leicester 1-0 Southampton
Square it!
Ayoze Perez is lucky that he's offside as he's got Jamie Vardy to his left, on a tap-in, and he shoots and blazes it over. Vardy is hobbling a bit now, knowing that millions have got him in for the fantasy football double game week.
Leicester 1-0 Southampton
Saints send everyone up and Jamie Vardy - again - springs in to the space. His cut back is blocked and ends up at the feet of Wilfried Ndidi, who skies it.

Shane O'Neill: James Justin was an absolute steal at £8m. What a superb player he is.
Leicester 1-0 Southampton
Jamie Vardy...denied! James Justin sets him away with a great run and pass.
He dives inside the last-ditch challenge, on to his left foot and then Alex McCarthy makes a big block save to just about squirrel it wide.
Unlucky/great lkeeping.
Leicester 1-0 Southampton
That's great from Ayoze Perez on the right, tricks his way past a man and then floats over a great ball to find Jamie Vardy. Takes it on his chest and shoots - blocked yet again.
