Sheffield United will have a huge spring in their step now and they will be eyeing certain games in the run up as must wins.

It's easy to let the Premier League get on top of you when you get beat every week, you get deflated and a negativity runs through the training ground. You've just got to let it go no matter the result and focus on the next fixture.

They have done that and they believe what the manager is telling them and it's taken a while but they've shown their togetherness.

I can honestly see them getting out of it.

Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on BBC Sport: "Disappointed, we couldn't get to the heights of the last few months' football we played. Very disappointing, we couldn't find a solution to their very compact block and good defence.

"Two wrong decisions, that's how it is, it's that kind of season, inconsistent and the referee missed those two.

"That little spark, that edge, we didn't have that extra creativity, imagination, the X factor we've had - it's happened, we look at it, agree it is not good enough and go again.

"We conceded a poor goal, lost the ball cheaply up the pitch, didn't get back in and tackle, didn't clear our lines and didn't get out to the ball quick enough and we were punished.

"There is no time to feel sorry for yourself because Saturday you go again, we have Arsenal, we have to forget this, learn from it and move on."

Everton

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, speaking to BT Sport: "It was a tough game. I thought we defended more than we attacked, we did quite well and it's a good point.

"We didn't have the control that we wanted when they equalised, the game was more in their control but the point was fair.

"It wasn't that we defended too deep, it was the fact we didn't quite have the quality after they equalised.

"I said two weeks ago this is an unpredictable league, unbelievable. There are good games and hard games - we played against Sheffield United, who are at the bottom, and had problems. It's a really exciting Premier League."

On Jordan Pickford: "This is not the right place to talk about this. He can do better but it doesn't matter."

On James Rodriguez's goal: "It was unbelievable. We're not used to seeing him score with the right!"

Everton

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti to BBC Sport: "I'm happy with the draw. The result is fair. We had an opportunity at the end to win but the result is fair. It’s a good point for us.

"They are a good team. We defended well. We could have had more control of the ball.

"Spirit is good. Condition is good. We are in the right way. Everywhere, unpredictable results."

On James Rodriguez scoring with his right foot: "Surprise. I don’t remember him scoring with his right foot before. It was really fantastic."

Manchester United

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire on BT Sport: "It wasn't good enough, we didn't play to the level we have in recent weeks. We gave them two goals, now it's time to stand up and be counted because it's easy when you are winning football matches - when you lose it is about how quickly you bounce back.

"We started the game in full control. We have to do more, we made it hard for ourselves, got ourselves back in it and you can't lose it from there.

"We knew at half time the next goal would be crucial, we had great belief we could do that again We weren't good enough tonight and didn't play to a level we expect from ourselves."

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to BT Sport: "We had all the possession but when you concede two bad goals it's always going to be difficult. We didn't create big enough chances to score enough goals.

"That magic was missing, that little bit extra. They defended well, fair play to them but we didn't have the right ideas or solutions. The first goal is a foul, Billy Sharp runs into David de Gea. At the other end, no foul for the disallowed goal for us but it's that kind of season. Two mistakes by the referee.

"It wasn't to be, the second goal we conceded is so poor, so sloppy. Easy. We stopped getting out to the ball, three or four bad decisions which is out of character.

"There will be no big inquest. There have been so many odd results this season but with the world as it is we have been the most consistent team, it hit us today."

Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to BBC Sport: "I was really pleased with the team. We started the game very well and worked our way through the lines. They sat really deep.

"We made a mistake for their goal which gave them something to hang on to. It was about how we responded. In the second half we were outstanding. We were unfortunate we couldn’t get the second goal.

"On another day we could have won it.

"We knew we’d have to have patience and there wouldn’t be too many goals.

"Performance wise it was really good. They are a tough team to play against.

"Wilfred Ndidi felt something in his hamstring, it tightened up a little bit. We'll assess him in the next couple of days. Jonny Evans had blurred vision in one eye. Couldn’t take any risk, get him off."

Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder on Match of the Day: "We have to play near perfect from our point of view against world class players and a team that is flying high, all season we have had pretty tight games and not come out the right side, we took our big moments, the second goal was a huge moment for us.

"We're always going to be on the back foot here, we're aggressive, competitive. You have to be good with the ball and I thought we were. You can't sit back and hope to get a result. To score two goals at a place like this is special for the boys."

On Phil Jagielka's performance: "We talked about it before regarding our Premier League experience, first season last year, the obvious one was Jags and he has played a big part of the pitch as well as on it when he gets the opportunity, thought it was right to play the experienced boys - Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick ran their socks off.

"The league doesn't lie and we haven't taken enough big moments. We played Spurs a couple of weeks ago and got undone by the best striker in Europe and a fantastic finish from Ndombele, that's what the league is all about - you have to play your best or close to your best every game, We have got it right tonight, Manchester City away on Saturday... that's what the league is all about.

"They got the job done and I am delighted with them."

As Izzy suggests, all four of Manchester United's Premier League defeats this campaign were at Old Trafford (W4-D2-L4).

Only twice before have the Red Devils lost more than three PL home matches in an entire season: 2013/14 (7) and 2001/02 (6).

Manchester United need to have a look at that home form and think about how they are going to begin to take results when fans are not there, it's definitely not fresh that fans have not been in the stadiums.

Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BT Sport: "I thought we deserved a point. We made a good start to the game, it was a bit scruffy but they had that moment of quality, so we had to regroup again. We had some good patterns but we didn't make the goalkeeper work so much in the first half.

"We should've gone on and won the game, that was maybe two points dropped for us but they're a really good side - but if you can't win, don't lose.

"They are strong on set-pieces and when you let quality players get on the ball, they can hurt you but you can just see the development in the team and the quality of the game, so I'm happy for the players.

"It's a big credit to our players that they were able to open Everton up. We have good players with a good mentality and I thought overall we were excellent in the game.

"You come away to play against a top team and get a point and if you can't win it you just move on."

Sheffield United

Sheffield United defender Phil Jagielka to BBC Sport: "It's been difficult for the whole group. We've had a couple of good cup results and that gained some confidence through the team. We knew it would be tough today.

"It's tough to step in, it always seems to be Man U for me but it was a pleasure to play tonight. I was a bit rusty but we showed some good football as well.

"The first person I told was my dad and he laughed, he said 'go and enjoy it, it might be the last time you'll play at Old Trafford.'

"I'll have to have an ice bath now but I don't care."

Aleksandar Todorov: I still don’t know why Ole persists with Martial, contributes nothing to the team and is shockingly bad you can’t put it into words. It’s like playing with 10 men. Bruno Fernandes lost possession 25 times which is awful by his standards. Shocking.

Khurshid Patel: Everyone saying Ole is the man for job, this game is a perfect example how he lacks tactics, in game management, and influence from touch line.

Liz Tray: Utd fans were absolutely certain until 2 hours ago they were going to win the title. It's our season! It's time! Ole can do it! Tonight? City are going to coast it! To which I say: Shut. Up. We're half-way thru the season. Nobody knows anything.

Robin: Well that’s us gifting city the title.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter to BBC Sport: "Over the course of the 90 minutes we were the better team. We had the better chances and more chances.

"But in any Premier League game you feel the other team will get a chance. It’s a big chance at the end. We defended well.

"I'm really happy with the players for what they put into the game against a team fighting for points too.

"We were dominant for the whole game. I felt we were always going towards their goal attacking. They have some good players and they set up well to defend. It wasn’t too be.

"We’re on a nice run in terms of results and performances.

"There are still 50-odd points to play for. A lot of football to play. We have to focus on ourselves. Sometimes it’s not your day in terms of a bit of luck in front of goal."

On whether their home form is affecting the players: "I don’t see that in the performance. Our away results have been good. We’ve drawn a lot of home games. We’ve not lost to many of the teams around us."

Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder to BT Sport: "There's not been many moments for us this season. The players are jumping about in there and they have every right to, it's been a tough old season but I'll bring them back down to earth tomorrow. It's a great result and I'm delighted for the players because they've been through a lot.

"It's a long time to wait for a win at Old Trafford and it's a special result, and a special performance. We've talked about big moments and this is one with a touch of luck with the winning goal.

"Phil Jagielka held it all together. He'll get a rocket for allowing Harry Mauire to score but he held it together back there. You have to block out the noise and get on with your job. We always turn up. We should be on more points but we have to build on this.

"I'm not saying an incredible escape is on but I want to show what we are about."

I look back at the weekend when Sheffield United beat Plymouth in the FA Cup and you think that those cup games in between league games can be used as a catalyst to reignite a bit of form.

I'm not saying that Sheffield United have hit form but they have beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford, it's one step at a time.

They were first to everything tonight, they wanted it more and that's why they got the result.

Darren: What an appalling performance! Can't beat Sheffield Utd! Don't deserve the title!

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter tells BT Sport: "We're frustrated with the scoreline as we thought we had enough opportunities to win the game.

"Our performance was really, really good and I thought we were the dominant team and restricted them to not much. I'm really proud of the players, just disappointed to not get three points.

"We're creating the chances and getting in there, so we have to keep believing we can score. Our performances levels have been high across the season apart from a game or a game and a half but the challenge is to turn those performances into points.

"If any team deserved to win, it was us."
