Rich: Pope vs Pickford isn't as simple as that. Pope could be a completely different keeper if sweeping behind a high line defence. He's a brilliant shot-stopper when Mee and Tarkowski restrict the opposition to low-percentage shots. But England don't play like Burnley.

Andrew Morris: OGS missed a trick by not starting Cavani & Mata from the start, and exacerbated that error by not bringing Mata on sooner. Back to the jekyll-and-hyde performances from MUFC which almost guarantees MCFC will romp the title the rest of the way.

Aditya Thakkar: I really can't believe Ole took of Greenwood and left Martial on the pitch. Martials body language alone doesn't warranty him time on even the u17s bench.

Thomas Knights: The number of times Martial has picked the ball up on the left side, and refused to run at the defender and just passed backwards or sideways is embarrassing. The worst performance from a United number 9 I have ever seen today.

Jack Tanner: City are going to cruise to the title, aren't they?

And another great chance for Everton! Dominic Calvert-Lewin heads wide when well placed. You'd back him from there.

Two minutes of normal time left. Oliver Burke does a great job for the Blades, carrying the ball 40-50 yards and winning a throw. Pin them in!

Oohhhh a chance for Everton! They've not had many. Richarlison wins a corner with a surging run and then heads the setpiece over, was only about seven yards out.

Ole IS the best man for the job at United. However he needs to get a defensive coach and some better defenders, some of our defending at times is absolutely shambolic.

Jordan Pickford is following the same decline as Joe Hart.

Terry Urbanczyk: With a resurgent Man City, who are favourites for the league, United needed to win tonight and score 3 or more goals. Still a long way to go for United I think. I wouldn't say inconsistent, but it's games like tonight that you need to win.

Willem Mevius: The few times Sheffield Utd attack they look much more dangerous than Man Utd. Is that just because Man Utd have fewer defenders?

Dawesy: So disappointing that Man Utd have not been clinical tonight. We are making progress but these are games that have to be won.

Lewis Starks: Sheff United have only scored more than 1 goal in a league game this season on 2 occasions... Both times against Man United!

Mark Burt: Pease win Sheffield United, the country needs a pick me up.

Manchester United send on Luke Shaw and Donny van de Beek. They need to score twice to go back top tonight.

James Rodriguez has not been in the game much since his goal, like most of Everton's players, but he curls a nice-looking ball wide from 20 yards.

Also the final 10 minutes at Old Trafford. Sheffield United within sight of a very fine win indeed.

Sheffield United scored multiple goals in only one of their previous 22 Premier League matches, in a 3-2 home defeat against Manchester United on 17 December.

Andrew Mitchell: How much longer can Gareth Southgate or Carlo Ancelotti keep their faith in Pickford?

Richard Cohen: Triple error from Pickford for that goal. Gives away the corner unnecessarily on a ball going miles wide; flaps wildly at the corner; fumbles a straightforward shot into the net. Sad that none of us are remotely surprised at this point.

Paul King: More importantly...West Ham back to fourth!

That is some of the most embarrassing defending I have ever seen in this level. Ole has had more than enough time to improve this dire defence and hasn't.

    Dan, Hertfordshire

Twice in 5 seconds Pogba stood in the box 5 yards from the eventual scorer. Twice he failed to walk over and pick him up. He was 10 yards out!!!!! Shocking lack of awareness

So close! Leicester sub Cengiz Under runs into the area and shoots, it takes a deflection very simliar to the one at Old Trafford but this time the ball lands a yard wide.

Almost an instant response. Alex Telles hits a shot that deflects up, loops toward goal and Aaron Ramsdale turns it over. May have even hit the bar!

From the corner Paul Pogba heads wide.

Jordan Pickford had been enjoying a solid game up until that Youri Tielemans strike and is doing his best to cajole his team-mates as Leicester look for a winner.

This will be a test of Everton's defensive steel.

GOAL - Manchester United 1-2 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    Oliver Burke (74 mins)

Well then! Maybe we will have the shock scoreline after all! Sheffield United lead for a second time.

David de Gea plays a rubbish pass out wide, straight to John Lundstram. He finds Oliver Burke, who has a shot blocked but there's no reaction and Lundstram finds him inside the area for a second time.

He shoots, it's not the best hit but hits Axel Tuanzebe on the thigh and goes in off the underside of the crossbar!
