    Burnley

Burnley goalscorer Ben Mee, speaking to MOTD: "Expect the unexpected. Second half we came out of the blocks better than the first half, we pressed a little bit more, which was very nice.

"[Nick Pope] made some good saves...but that's his job! We get our bodies in the way when we can but he's been fantastic as always and it's great to see him doing well.

"It was a big one to build on after last week's win over Liverpool. To win again tonight shows where we're going at the minute, it's a big win. There's a lot of quality in their side, so to get three points, against a very good side, is a really good victory for us.

"We always back ourselves and we want to get higher up the table but it's all about keeping our heads and doing what we're good at really, and we are in a good vein of form.

"The game at Anfield was big for us but tonight it's just important. In the second half we showed just how much we wanted to win, we've got a bit of a habit of winning big games and then winning the next game, so we looking forward now to the next one."

It's transfer deadline day next Monday which means West Brom/some other team may be chucking some money at this guy:

Georgios Giakoumakis has scored all four goals for VVV to bring his total to 20 goals in this Eredivisie season (after 19 matchrounds).

In all top flight leagues in Europe, only Robert Lewandowski (23 goals for Bayern), Paul Onuachu (22 for KRC Genk, Belgium) and Mirlind Daku (21 for Ballkani, Kosovo) have scored more goals this season.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

Brighton bring on Davy Propper for Alexis Mac Allister.

From the corner Adam Webster heads wide (again).

    Brighton 0-0 Fulham

    Brighton go so close twice!

First Joachim Andersen almost deflects a cross into his own net - it's well saved by Alphonse Areola. And then Solly March's shot is blocked by Ola Aina.

  6. 'Proud of the commitment'published at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    FT: Chelsea 0-0 Wolves

    Wolves

More from Nuno Espirito Santo, on BT Sport: "We defended well, organised, Chelsea had the ball but we were in shape. To defend, to keep a clean sheet - happy with the way the boys were organised, compact, helping each other. That's the spirit.

"We miss a lot of things, we are aware of what is happening to us, but we are positive that as time goes by, the players coming back, we must work hard but having more players is more solutions.

"The approach we had, the commitment the boys had - this commitment to the team is what I am proud of more. Now let's recover and prepare for Palace, it will be a tough one."

One shot on target in this half so far. Not a classic. It's almost like these are two teams down near the bottom.

  8. 'I was proud to be the coach'published at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    FT: Chelsea 0-0 Wolves

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "Performance wise, structure wise, intensity wise it was a very positive surprise.

"We were well structured and had a lot of attacks and intensity.

"I was very happy with what I saw, I liked the attitude and energy and I just told the team that I will not allow anybody to doubt from here.

"We had some good opportunities, some half chances, time by time it was hard but it I was impressed because it was very equal in both halves."

Asked why the subs never came on earlier: "I only have three changes, I just have to get to know my team and I have to see who brings an input.

"I'm used to changing five times and early, no special reason"

Asked if he enjoyed himself: "Oh yeah a lot, I was totally into the team, they got me really into it, I was really impressed by what we did today.

"It was nice to watch on the sideline and I was proud to be the coach."

  10. 'The second half was really pleasing'published at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    FT: Burnley 2-3 Aston Villa

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche, speaking to MOTD: "Second half I was very proud. I thought they were the better side first half, had more creativity and we didn’t really ask too many questions.

"Sometimes we have to rely on our resilience and the players kept working, plus [Nick Pope] made big, important saves.

"The change at half time was thanks to the mentality of the players, asking questions, being on the front foot .The second half was really pleasing against a really good Aston Villa side.

"I thought we didn't have a a good handle on the game in the first half but once again, the mentality was excellent .The team playing that second half were really working hard. The simple basics in football are important and I like those things, the things players do that nobody notices.

"[Aston Villa] were excellent in the first half but second half, we had a handle of the balance and the feel of the game, we had more energy in our play, we had a better sharpness when we were defending. We’ve come up with a great win against a very good side.

"I felt like the first half, the players had that big result against Liverpool and then they struggled but for the second half, we delivered what we can deliver and I’m super pleased."

Was the win tonight or the win against Liverpool his favourite? "You only get three points for them all!!"

ReindeerHotdog: Man Utd rely on Fernandes so much that if he has an off day, the whole team implodes. Bearing that in mind I think Ole has done so well to guide this group of average players anywhere near the zenith of the league.

Liz Tray: Here is an insight into how incredibly bonkers football fans are. I'm watching Everton-Leic. Dad chose Utd-Sheff U. As Utd are losing he CANNOT switch over. He's trapped, watching Utd. Because of bad luck/superstition. How very normal.

Kyle Leitch: Goalkeepers are far too protected in the modern game. Neither was a foul and both should have stood. Maguire had his eyes on the ball. If only refs used common sense.

"Oi, we are better than this," Leicester skipper Kasper Schmeichel screams at his team-mates as they concede a sloppy free-kick. There were a few choice words added for good measure.

    It's been quite a turnaround.

Good feet by Leandro Trossard and he picks out Neal Maupay. Alphonse Areola is quickly off his line to deny the Brighton striker... and the offside flag pops up so it wouldn't have counted.

Brighton would be a top-half team if they could finish.
