    Manchester United 0-1 Sheffield United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not look impresed.

David McGoldrick is almost in behind the backline again but David de Gea is out well to sweep it up. As McGoldrick told us on a Zoom call last year - he's the slowest player in the team.

    How about this?!

Sheffield United, rock bottom of the Premier League, have taken the lead against Manchester United!

That's Kean Bryan's first goal for Sheffield United. He's struggled to get into this side since arriving back in 2018 but he's off the mark, finally.

    What a shock!

Kean Bryan is a Manchester City youth product and that's his first goal for the Blades!

    Brighton 0-0 Fulham

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is 25 now, the days of being a promising youngster are over. The Fulham midfielder has a cross blocked. The Cottagers have been more adventurous since the restart.

Uncle Busby: I’d be interested to know how many times Man United have scored inside the first 15 minutes in the PL this season. For all the improvement and glee, I don’t remember many. I remember many average first 15 minutes mind you.

Harish Lakka: Leicester deserve to win the league this year. Consistent, clinical, and composed at the back. What a story that will be, if that happens.

Ashwin R: Pogba is brimming with confidence. He’s performance of late has been what we’ve been longing to see since his comeback.

Nilesh Patel: Leicester are all absolutely swarming Everton, can't even get out their half.

    Kean Bryan (23 mins)

Blimey! They score from that corner as well!

It's a cracking delivery, David de Gea doesn't cover himself in too much glory with an attempt at a punch and Kean Bryan is able to flick on a gentle touch which goes in off the base of the post!

Much better from Sheffield United who have seen more of the ball since that Billy Sharp run. They have forced a corner now.

Fulham chance. Kenny Tete's cross is headed into the air by Joel Veltman and Bobby Decordova-Reid volleys over from a tight angle.

I think Everton might struggle tonight - We have three quality midfielders who add bite to the team, can break up opposition play, and support attacks with intent and ability. And none of them are available.

    Joe

Harvey Barnes is exactly what the game needs. Takes players on, is direct and clever. We need more like him, Grealish and Curtis Jones.

James Maddison is oozing confidence, but after an impressive Leicester start, Everton are coming back into this now. A nice run by Ben Godfrey led to that Richarlison chance.

As well as being a very good defender, the former Norwich player can turn on the steam in attack too.

    Brighton 0-0 Fulham

Brighton corner nice and early in the half. Pascal Gross takes and Alphonse Areola is fouled as he punches away. Well 'fouled'.

    Everton 0-0 Leicester

A lovely touch from James Maddison takes him beyond a defender as Leicester look for the counter attack but Ben Godfrey sweeps up well.

Everton scored from two James Rodriguez corners at the weekend but Lucas Digne took that one.

And there's a good chance for the vistors! No, that very late flag comes to the rescue.

A good ball set Billy Sharp away but his shot was well saved by the foot of David de Gea before Mason Greenwood threatens at the other end but is closed down well.

Just the 83% of possession for Manchester United so far (EIGHTY-THREE) but Chris Wilder will be pleased so far. No shots on target.

  16. CLOSE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    Everton 0-0 Leicester

I wouldn't be surprised if Harvey Barnes and James Justin get in the next England squad, Gareth Southgate must have been impressed with them in this opening. Justin cuts out a rare Everton surge before James Maddison dips a shot from 30 yards onto the roof of Jordan Pickford's net.

Leicester look the class side on display so far.

  17. 'Ethan, Ethan'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

Sheffield United defender Ethan Ampadu is getting a lot of instructions barked at him by boss Chris Wilder standing on the touchline.

"Shoulder, shoulder, Ethan. Get across towards George."

    Baldock I assume.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    Manchester United 0-0 Sheffield United

It's been a steady tide of Manchester United possession without much sign of a breakthrough but just as I type that Marcus Rashford snakes in a low shot from about 22 yards which is close to finding the back of the net. Slides wide.

  19. 'It gives me a good feeling for the future'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    FT: Chelsea 0-0 Wolves

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel speaking to Match of the Day: "I enjoyed it a lot because I was very happy with the intensity, the attitude, energy and quality of my team, we were well organised, had a lot of ball recoveries in the last third, never lacked intensity.

'We stepped up minute after minute in the second half. I was very happy performance wise, unfortunately we couldn't score, if we take care of out performance like this the results will come.

"It reminded me a bit of our games in Dortmund, we had a very good training session yesterday, 21 guys who were totally awake, to try to do what we are doing - tactically, structure, where to accelerate the game, how to defend - I didn't expect it to be on this level from one training and two meetings. It gives me a good feeling for the future.

"It was today totally unfair because I had no explanation for anybody on the side why they didn't play. Every day will help."

On Callum Hudson-Odoi's performance: "Dribbling, runs, one on ones, intensity - defensively he had to help in a back five, we didn't want to suffer too much in their ball in possession. Callum was the key on the side with his speed and confidence."

He doesn't get much wrong at the moment but that's not vintage - James Maddison drills the free-kick into the wall.
