I don't think it was a surprise Frank Lampard lost his job. We didn't agree with it but Chelsea's model has provided trophies over the years and it's been the most coveted job in world football since Roman Abramovich took over. How can you argue with them?

There will be other jobs for Lampard. What he did with the young players to get Chelsea into the Champions League, it was great progress. But with the war chest he had, did he spend it well? Timo Werner and Kai Havertz haven't performed yet but people forget they are youngsters moving in Covid times.

Mason Mount speaking to Football Focus: "Every season I want to do better. This year I've not scored as many goals as I want to although I feel like I've played well. It was an unbelievable feeling captaining the team against Luton last week. I'm CHelsea through and through and having the armband on meant so much.

"We have top players in this team but looking at our results, we've not been as good recently. We need to stick together, we've got good belief and hopefully we can back to producing good performances."

Thirteen goals in 19 Premier League games is the stuff of nightmares for a manager but Sean Dyche's Burnley can move 11 POINTS clear of the relegation zone if they win at Chelsea for the second time in four visits.

Burnley came from behind to win a Premier League game for the first time this season in their last match against Aston Villa. The 3-2 victory was the first time they’d scored as many as three goals in 30 Premier League games, since beating Bournemouth 3-0 in February 2020.

Mason Mount has been really good for Chelsea - he'd certainly be in my first team. I don't think Frank Lampard knew what his best team was though and that was probably the biggest problem of all.

We don't yet know what Thomas Tuchel's style will be yet.

Burnley's new owner Alan Pace, speaking to Football Focus: "We love it here. People treat us as though we are locals and we have been really welcomed.

"It's been a difficult transfer window. We've made some offers and I'm curious about how these become public! We feel passionate about the youth system and we want to keep investing in that. It's special for players who have come through to play on this pitch.

"But there are offers happening as we speak so hopefully we can make some progress with those."

I think Thomas Tuchel left Mason Mount on the bench in midweek because he wanted to see a bit more of some of the others. He will have seen plenty of Mount.

Timo Werner is a quality striker but he's just low on confidence at the moment. Chelsea will be hoping Tuchel can bring the best out of him. It'll be interesting to see how he goes about that - I don't think he's the type to put his arm around a player to do that.

I wonder if new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has come up against a team who play quite like Burnley before? I doubt it.

The Clarets are doing well and will be full of confidence after beating Liverpool and Aston Villa in their past two league games, to give themselves a bit of breathing space above the bottom three.

By the way things looked during Wednesday's draw with Wolves, Tuchel has made improving the Blues' defence his priority. If they can get that right again here, I think he can get his first win under his belt.

I was exhausted just watching Thomas Tuchel on the touchline in Chelsea's goalless draw with Wolves in midweek, the German's first match in charge.

He was in and out of his seat every other minute, throwing his arms in the air whenever his side went close to scoring, jumping up and down on the spot and bellowing orders to his new players.

Tuchel even offered a comforting shoulder for Thiago Silva at the end.

Is there a more animated boss in the Premier League?

It's a murky, grey day in London and both sets of players are out on the pitch warming up.

Sean Dyche is wearing his trademark white shirt and tie.

Thomas Tuchel is definitely a tracksuit boss. Has anyone seen him in a suit?

Burnley's owners should invest into their manager. Even when they were struggling, you knew they would revert to type and start winning games. Sean Dyche does a fabulous job on hardly any money. He is Mr Burnley. They need to keep backing him.

After Burnley went down, they invested in the training ground not splurging on players and that model has been proved right.

Had things worked out differently then we might have been building this up as the Danny Drinkwater derby.

What about this for a fantastic gesture.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has bought 60,000 facemasks for market traders to help the Covid-19 battle in Sierra Leone.

The Germany international, whose parents are from Sierra Leone, has also donated money to the country's Free Quality Education initiative.

In addition, Rudiger has provided foodstuffs to hospital workers at a hospital in Germany.

"I have been poor before so I just thought what can I do to help in this type of situation," said the defender.

There are few managers who get time anymore. It's just part of the job. It doesn't mean you're a bad manager but if you lose a few games and not look like you're going in the right direction then you're out.

Anyone could manage PSG to a title in Ligue 1. Thomas Tuchel seems like a technical guy - he picked a strange team against Wolves. It was a bit safety first. He's either going to be a massive hit or a dud.
