If they can just calm themselves down now and see the next 10 minutes out this will give the lads a hell of a lot of confidence. They've just shown they can play the football that will cause Belgium problems.

Worth remembering that if press reports are to be believed, Man City fans might see Romelu Lukaku supplied with passes like that every week next season.

  3. CLOSE!published at 17 mins

    Belgium 0-1 Wales

Youri Tielemans shoots, but Wales deflect clear.

However, from the corner Belgium must equalise. Kevin De Bruyne's ball is perfect, but Romelu Lukaku misses from very close range, firing over.

    Big miss.

What is it about Wales and Belgium?

Wales had barely touched the ball for the first few minutes and, with their first attack, they produce one of the finest team goals from a Welsh side in recent memory.

Connor Roberts, Gareth Bale and Harry Wilson constructed and finished that goal with the kind of dreamy nonchalance you'd struggle to replicate even in training.

A first scare for Wales as they concede possession, but Romelu Lukaku's shot is blocked.

It's been a dream opening 15 minutes for Robert Page's side.

What a goal this is, what a move! A brilliant counter-attack. Vermaelen doesn't want to get tight. Connor Roberts into Gareth Bale and then a brilliant first-time finish from Harry Wilson, doesn't let Courtois get set. Outstanding goal.

    Wales lead!

A beautiful move culminates in Harry Wilson sweeping home!

That was just brilliant stuff, a classic counter-attacking goal, created by Connor Roberts and an exquisite ball by Gareth Bale.

    Wow!

He knows his race is run, his hamstring. He'll be bitterly disappointed Joe Allen. He's seen playing loads of games, building form. Most would be delighted to see him back. So disappointing.

Joe Allen is being forced off with a muscle injury. Joe Morrell replaces him. What a nightmare for Wales.

Wales' back three have a combined 31 caps.

    Belgium's? 305.

Wales have got two holding midfielders, you'll see De Bruyne dropping into pockets of space. They have got to be really careful when they haven't got the ball, Wales.

  18. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Belgium 0-0 Wales

Wales do not appear to be doing a man-to-man marking job on Kevin De Bruyne, which is a gamble. He is already finding, to use the parlance, 'little pockets'.

I know Robert Page, he's solid, very honest and hard-working. He'll make sure the team is well prepared to go out there and give their best. They've got good legs and energy across the pitch. They've got to somehow contain Belgium when they have possession. If Wales get a clean sheet I could see them getting a win.

  20. Postpublished at 2 min

Belgium start with a period of sustained possession. Think it's safe to say the game will follow that pattern.
