  1. Irvine given quick Hibs debutpublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Hibernian v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Hibs throw new signing Jackson Irvine straight into action even though the Australia midfielder, who was released by Hull City in June, has not played competitively since March.

The 27-year-old replaces the injured Joe Newell, while another midweek signing, Chris Cadden, the midfielder most recently with Columbus Crew, is on the bench.

In the only other change, winger Martin Boyle returns from an ankle injury to replace Drey Wright.

Chris Burke has been as influential for Kilmarnock as Boyle has for Hibs, but the veteran is on the bench today, with Mitchell Pinnock handed a start in midfield.

Injuries mean the visitors are without veteran centre-half Kirk Broadfoot, with Clevid Dikamona his replacement in central defence, and attacking midfielder Rory McKenzie, with Aaron Tshibola coming in.

    Ross County v Aberdeen (15:00)

Ross County manager John Hughes makes no less than five changes from the 3-1 defeat to Livingston six days ago, despite appearing to have been relatively pleased with his side's performance.

Keith Watson, Coll Donaldson, Jordan Tillson, Stephen Kelly and Ross Draper all drop out from that game.

In come Connor Randall and Callum Morris into defence, Iain Vigurs and Regan Charles-Cook into midfield, and Jermaine Hylton up front.

Aberdeen make two changes from the loss to Rangers, with Ross McCrorie and Matty Kennedy coming in for Dean Campbell and Ryan Hedges, the latter of which is suspended.

Derek McInnes had named a starting line-up for the match with Livingston in midweek before the game was called off. Sam Cosgrove would have been on the bench for that one, but starts today.

Scott Wright is "close" to agreeing a deal with Rangers according to Steven Gerrard, but retains his place.

  3. Four changes for Accies; United unchangedpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

Hamilton Academical v Dundee United (15:00)

There are four changes to the Hamilton Academical line-up from the side that lost 2-0 with Kilmarnock last weekend.

Ryan Fulton replaces Kyle Gourlay in goal. Aaron Martin, Brian Easton and Callum Smith come in for George Stanger, Charlie Trafford and Andrew Winter.

Dundee United are unchanged from the side that drew 2-2 with St Johnstone on Tuesday.

  4. Bitton back for Celtic; Livi missing Holtpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Celtic v Livingston (15:00)

Celtic's options are limited by the number of absentees as 13 players self-isolate, but they still make two changes to the youthful side that drew 1-1 with Hibs on Monday.

Out go 20-year-old centre-back Stephen Welsh and 19-year-old forward Cameron Harper, with Nir Bitton back after suspension and fellow defender Anthony Ralston in for his first appearance of the season.

The champions again line up without a recognised striker and Tom Rogic or Mikey Johnston look most likely to lead the line.

High-flying Livingston show just one change from the 3-1 win over Ross County last weekend.

Midfielder Gary Holt drops out of the and Steve Lawson is promoted from the bench as the visitors chase a ninth straight win.

St Johnstone v St Mirren (15:00)

St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson has made three alterations to the team that drew 2-2 away to Dundee United on Tuesday.

Liam Craig, Murray Davidson and Callum Booth drop out of the starting line-up, with Craig Bryson, Jason Kerr and Scott Tanser coming in.

As for St Mirren, manager Jim Goodwin makes two changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Motherwell last Saturday.

Eamonn Brophy is handed his first start for the Paisley club, and comes into the side with Cammy MacPherson as Kyle McAllister and Ethan Erhahon make way.

  6. Hibs have upper handpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Hibernian v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Without a win in four games, Hibs are in danger of losing touch with Aberdeen in the battle for third place and being caught by Livingston below.

Jack Ross' side have lost their most recent two home games without scoring but will take heart from Monday's draw at Celtic Park, albeit it was against champions depleted by Covid-19 self-isolation.

They also have recent form against seventh-placed Kilmarnock on their side, being unbeaten against today's visitors in five meetings and winning the latest three.

The Ayrshire side have not won at Easter Road in six visits since May 2014 but arrive having recovered from their own poor run and are unbeaten in three games.

    BBC Scotland

Fans group the Killie Trust has already raised £9,500 to pay the club's Covid-breach fine.

Yesterday, Kilmarnock and St Mirren won their appeal against 3-0 defeats handed down due to Covid-19 regulation breaches.

A Scottish FA judicial panel overturned walkover wins awarded to Motherwell and Hamilton Academical by an SPFL tribunal last month.

Both clubs had initially admitted breaching social distancing rules, with a suspended £40,000 each given out.

That amount was reduced to £20,000, with half suspended, while all three games are set to be rearranged.

  9. Can depleted Celtic halt in-form Livi?published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Celtic v Livingston (15:00)

Celtic have won 11 of their previous 12 home league games against Livingston, drawing the other 0-0 in April 2019.

But the home side are once again missing 13 players deemed close contacts to Christopher Jullien, who tested positive for Covid after the club's training camp in Dubai.

Those remaining were denied a win over Hibs on Monday by a stoppage-time equaliser.

How will they cope with an red hot Livingston side, looking for a seventh successive league victory?

  10. Battle of the Saints in Perthpublished at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

St Johnstone v St Mirren (15:00)

Callum Davidson's St Johnstone side will be aiming to end a 10-game winless Scottish Premiership run when they entertain St Mirren at McDiarmid Park this afternoon.

Recent encounters in Perth between the sides may suggest the hosts have a good chance of claiming a first league win since early November, as they have won seven of their last nine home league games against the Paisley club.

    Image caption,

Late goals from Lee Erwin and Jonathan Obika secured a dramatic 3-2 win for St Mirren in the last meeting between the sides four weeks ago

However, Jim Goodwin's men arrive at McDiarmid Park buoyed by yesterday's news that their Covid breach appeal was successful, and a win today could take the visitors within touching distance of the league's top six with games to spare on the teams above.

And with both clubs taking part in next weekend's Scottish League Cup semi-finals, Davidson and Goodwin will be hoping they can make the trip to Hampden with a spring in their step.

  16. Championship clubs canvassed on carrying onpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

Many of the lower league clubs complained about a lack of consultation from the SPFL when the temporary pause was put in place.

Now the Scottish FA has asked clubs in the second tier if they are comfortable continuing.

But, what should have been a straightforward process, has been muddied by a rather clumsy email from chief executive Ian Maxwell, which said "one championship club has publicly taken the position that all football should be suspended".

While it's true Inverness Caley Thistle boss John Robertson has expressed concerns about the wisdom of carrying on when Covid is surging, the Highland club insist they do not want a stop to the season.

  17. Dundee ask about late kick-offpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Heather Dewar
BBC Scotland reporter at Dens Park

There was a pitch inspection done at 10:30 by a local referee and he said it was fine to go ahead.

At 1330, the ref for today’s game, David Munro, said there was a wet patch on the pitch and they kicked a ball around and deemed it to be dangerous - so he has called it off.

Dundee are now speaking to the league to see what can be done - asking if they can they delay kick off.

  18. Not quite a full card in the Championshippublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

League One and League Two have been suspended until at least the end of the month but the Championship goes on, with new mandatory Covid testing in place.

But not all the games go ahead, since Raith Rovers are dealing with an outbreak of the virus at Stark's Park.

And now we are hearing Dens Park has failed a pitch inspection after passing one earlier this morning... No official confirmation of that yet.

Morton and Dunfermline Athletic shared the points in a goalless draw at Cappielow last night.

  19. Another busy day of Scottish Premiership actionpublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

Good afternoon. Rangers may be miles in front but the Scottish Premiership still has plenty of other sub-plots to keep us interested.

Celtic are once again without a host of isolating players, so can Aberdeen and Hibs apply some pressure at the top end of the table?

Will Livingston keep up their remarkable winning run away to the defending champions?

And what about the battle to avoid the drop? Just three points cover the four teams at the bottom.

We have five games all kicking off at 15:00 GMT, so don't go anywhere - even if you could.
