  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+2 mins

    Man Utd 3-2 Liverpool

Two minutes to go. Liverpool have a chance. Pogba fouls Curtis Jones on the edge of the box for a booking and a useful free-kick.

    Could be all on this.

Jamie: Nice to see the big six clubs care about the cup for once, playing as much a full strength as they can..... Hopefully this trend stays.

MeFakeScientist: I'd love to enter an alternate universe where United didn't sign Fernandes, just to see how much of a difference he makes! Reckon they'd be in a relegation scrap?

TheTurboBear: what a stunning game this is, surely when they meet in the league this can't be a dull 0:0...

There will be four added minutes. United almost give us another 30 by inviting problems in their own box, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka is able to head away as Pogba was looking to head back to Henderson.

Where would Utd be without Fernandes??.....probably not in the top 6. Is there ever a side that deserves to be called a one man team more than this Utd side??

    Richard.

I've been a Red for years and it pains me to say it but I think it's time to move on from Klopp. We've added Thiago to a title winning squad and this is how we play? Unacceptable.

    Man Utd 3-2 Liverpool

    That would have sealed it.

Bruno Fernandes chips a cross into the box that is perfect for Cavani to leap and meet. Unfortunately, the Uruguayan is a lick of post paint away from his first Old Trafford goal and what would have been a tie-sealer.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 86 mins

    Man Utd 3-2 Liverpool

Anthony Martial on for Marcus Rashford. The England striker has had a superb game. He goes straight down the tunnel. Hopefully not a sign of any injury. Martial's task - run down every alley, no matter how blind.

Liverpool have five minutes to keep their Cup campaign alive. They've found a way in the past. Can they do it again?

Absolutely disgusting decision from the referee!!!. Never a free kick!!!

    Jim in Glasgow.

Is anyone gonna call that cheating from Fernandes!? Ref puts the ball where it should be, Fernandes moves it again for better angle of goal and scores. Cheat!

    Mike, Wigan...

What a waste. Shaqiri hits the first man, who hammers the ball clear.

Don't go thinking this game is done yet. Liverpool have a corner.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

After that latest swing in favour of the home side, Liverpool react by sending on Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri. Off go Roberto Firmino and Thiago.

Ashwin R: Here’s Bruno!!! That’s why he starts over Van De Beek every premier league game.

Ben: Credit where it's due, that was a great free kick from Fernandes.

Rachel T: Whoah Bruno - that was pretty special.

From the angle he had to go keeper-side, but I thought Allison would have expected that. He saw it late, his weight was on his right foot, but the accuracy, pace and precision from Fernandes were absolutely brilliant.

Rashford is in acres of space in the box to volley an effort into the ground and then Alisson's grasp. Reason he was in so much space is that he was offside.

    Bruno Fernandes

Is there a more important player for any side in England right now?

This is simply superb. He lifts the free-kick past the right side of the wall, dipping past Pogba and into the far corner.

He is some talent, that kid.

    Here is a chance.

Cavani is taken down right on the edge of the Liverpool box courtesy of a late tackle in the back from Fabinho.

    Fernandes will fancy this.

  17. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Man Utd 2-2 Liverpool

Salah cuts inside and manages to get another shot away, but it is straight at Henderson, who saves.

This after Pogba had charged away down the right for United but stuck his cross straight down Alisson's throat.

Liverpool really starting to tick, one and two touches around the box, getting the ball to Firmino and causing United problems

Liverpool continue to turn the screw. Firmino sees a shot from the edge of the box blocked before Thiago hooks a volley way over the bar.

Ziggy: Most transfer talk surrounding United usually centres on forward players, but not a game goes by without it being obvious that defence is where the big weakness lies

Sam George: Maguire and Lindelof are to slow together, really don’t see why ole is playing them together against Liverpool’s pace!
