    Everton 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Almost! Everton work it nicely to free Seamus Coleman on the overlap, he just does the simple thing and hits a cracking first-time cross into the middle.

It's over Dominic Calvert-Lewin but Richarlison is there, heads it across goal and Joe Wildsmith turns it onto the bar and over.

Everton popping it about nicely - ah, as I say that Abdoulaye Doucoure hits it straight to man in camo grey or whatever colour kit this Wednesday outfit is meant to be.

Wednesday lined up as a back four but they seem to be doing something slightly different now, looks like a back three. That's quite smart, as if to say to the opposition this is what we're doing then do something different.

On second glance it looks like they're changing between a back three to a back four all the time.

    Everton 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

The first proper strike on goal comes from Adam Reach, the Wednesday midfielder crashing in a shot from around 25 yards which Robin Olsen has to tip away for a corner.

    Great hit.

Some debate over whether the visitors are playing four or five at the back, looks pretty fluid. Here come Everton, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison almost link up nicely on the edge of the area but the ball gets away from the Brazilian.

One man who wasn't part of today's proceedings was Jesse Lingard.

The former England star has found it difficult to get into the Manchester United side this season and it looks like he might be going out on loan before the transfer window closes.

"He wants to play football, so we will sit down and make a decision on what we do.

"Jesse has been the ultimate pro and trained well with a small group. I would be happy to have him around us but we will see if anything comes up."

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just done his post-match press conference.

In it he revealed Bruno Fernandes, having been told he was not going to start today's game, stayed on the training pitch yesterday practicing free-kicks for an additional 45 minutes.

The extra work certainly paid off.

I've gone down a bit of a Paul Warhurst wormhole here but I'd forgotten just how good he was up front for a bit - the usual centre-half scored 12 in 12 after helping out up front and got an England call-up.

    Amazing.

Which Premier League centre-half now would do a job? Fabian Schar is Newcastle's best finisher isn't he?

TalkfootballNabi: Friendly reminder that Man United signed one of the best strikers in the world still at his peak on a free whilst Liverpool's Thiago just doesn't fit their team at all. Should have used those wages on a centre-back

Best side lost today. Some really poor decisions, and luck really against Liverpool. Really pleased with the way we played, signs were good and on to the next.
