    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk: "I'm delighted, buzzing for the boys to come to the champions and stop them from creating chances and play with the intensity we did.

"When we weren't winning games we showed that we can do it and now we have picked up the wins we deserve.

"It's a lot better for us now. We were never too worried and we won't get carried away now."

  2. 'The two Everton goals were preventable'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2021

    Leeds 1-2 Everton

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, speaking to BBC Sport: "The two goals they scored were preventable. The first 30 minutes of the game was good for us and the second half as well. We managed to find goalscoring opportunities and avoid a third goal. Finally we didn't manage the second goal.

"It is true they played an energetic game. Maybe the fact they were in front allowed us to take the initiative. After they were winning by two goals they gave us the ball and started defending in their own half. The amount of goalscoring opportunities we created makes us think we should have had a draw or win."

  3. 'Sacrifice was good'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2021

    Leeds 1-2 Everton

    Everton

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti to BBC Sport: "It's special because it was a difficult game against a difficult team. We did really well in the first half. Second half was more difficult because we conceded early. To arrive at the end of game was not easy.

"The sacrifice, concentration and motivation was good. I'm really pleased with the reaction after the Newcastle defeat.

"The plan was to be intelligent in the game and defend well and find the opportunity to counter-attack. They push a lot of players in front.

"We lost a little bit of confidence after the goal. But this team is showing when they defend we are comfortable.

"We have better luck away from home. I hope [next opponents] Manchester United scored all their goals against Southampton."

As a Utd fan, I'm delighted for Jesse to see him hit the ground running at West Ham. It's been painful to watch him so low on confidence over the last season or two. Hope he kicks on from here.

Massive ramifications at the bottom of the table too. Bottom three looking decidedly nailed on if Brighton see this out

Mark Burt: Win, lose or draw Brighton have been immense. Fantastic organisation and passion to match.

Dont expect to win every game but also dont expect to get outplayed by teams in the mix for relegation.

Liverpool's normal source of goals down the right and left with Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold has just been nullified tonight. They've tried to pull the ball back to Mo Salah through the middle but there's just blue shirts everywhere.

GOAL - Aston Villa 1-3 West Ham Unitedpublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2021

    Jesse Lingard (83 mins)

    Wow!

What a debut for Jesse Lingard, but this one is an error from Emiliano Martinez. A rare one.

Ollie Watkins loses the ball, West Ham counter at pace and Michail Antonio has Lingard streaming up on his shoulder. The on-loan Manchester United man batters in a low shot from about 20 yards and the Villa keeper can't stop it from going through him and in.

  20. goal

GOAL - Aston Villa 1-2 West Ham Unitedpublished at 21:53 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2021

    Ollie Watkins (81 mins)

    We've got a game on!

You can be off the pace all night but when you've got Jack Grealish you'll always be in business. He plays a wand of a pass through from the right, Ollie Watkins is onside and between two defenders and theumps in at the near post.
