West Brom boss Sam Allardyce is trying to find a domestic-based player to add to his squad.
He was hopeful of signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal but that chance has now disappeared.
"We have until 11pm and we will try to find one more player in our budget," he said.
"It is not just the player, it is also the budget. We have spent quite a lot of our budget already and there is no point bringng in someone who won’t improve the first team."

The best summary of Liverpool's current transfer activity this morning is that there are lots of plates spinning - and Schalke's young Turkey defender Ozan Kabak is definitely one of those pieces of crockery...
Liverpool are exploring a number of options, including Marseille's Croatian Duje Caleta Car, but it does seem increasingly likely they will sign a second central defender in addition to the £2m deal for Preston's Ben Davies.
One added bit of intrigue to Liverpool's interest in Kabak is that the success of it may yet depend on whether Schalke sign a replacement. They are being strongly linked with Arsenal's Shkodram Mustafi, who has also figured in Liverpool's discussions.
Plates spinning? Cards falling into place? Choose for yourself.

Mark Gardiner: If the Boris Johnson deal doesn’t go through for Liverpool’s new CB I understand that Fulchester United’s Tommy Brown has also been contacted regarding a loan deal for their exciting aquatic-based goalkeeping sensation Billy The Fish.
David Hird: My mate works as a train dispatcher on platform 6 at St. Pancras International and he just saw Josh Maja departing the Eurostar (Class 374 Velaro) carrying documents labelled 'Four Year Contract - Fulham FC'.
We are still awaiting our first Premier League signing of the day. Meanwhile:
10 hours to go.
...Until the rum comes out.

A ten-day Covid isolation period didn’t help Aston Villa’s January transfer window, but ultimately it didn’t hinder the acquisition of Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
After a recent squad overhaul, Villa’s transfer windows are now not judged on quantity but quality, and if the French midfielder can provide a dynamic box-to-box presence, then it’s been a positive window.
The new normal for Aston Villa supporters on transfer deadline day is for it to be a tumbleweed affair.
The return of Brazilian striker Wesley in February should cover Villa’s only glaring need of support and back-up for Ollie Watkins.
Let's go to Birmingham. It's been a good season for Aston Villa so far. How are the fans feeling about the transfer window?
The Mail, external are reporting that Southampton are in talks with Chelsea over a loan move for 19-year-old Scottish midfielder Billy Gilmour.
That could be the only action at Stamford Bridge today given Chelsea spent the big bucks in the summer on the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell.

New Burnley owner Alan Pace was hoping to mark his arrival at Turf Moor by making a couple of signings for manager Sean Dyche.
However, a £7.5m offer for Stoke defender Nathan Collins was rejected over the weekend and like many other clubs, Burnley are struggling to identify alternatives.
How's Sean Dyche getting on? I've got this idea in my head that he sits in the Sean Dyche pub in Burnley on transfer deadline day, with a pint of a dark Irish dry stout that originated in Ireland that we are not allowed to name, making phone calls to the bosses.
"Alright Alan, we got anyone in yet?"
"No Sean, hang tight."
"I'll get another round in."
Hope he's stocked up at home today.
Oh, actually it's U's boss Karl Robinson, who has told his wife he won't be home for dinner tonight...
Oxford are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Sunderland's no-longer-on-fire striker Will Grigg.
