I can't see it Ben, but we live in hope. More chance of a goal I think as Aaron Cresswell has a powerful shot well blocked. West Ham have looked more progressive since half time.

The only thing keeping me going is the hope the snow comes down hard and they bring out...THE ORANGE BALL.

Confirmation that one of West Ham's half-time changes was a concussion sub. That's three injuries for the night though. Not good.

Big moment for Odubeko, to get the nod ahead of Benrahma. Vote of confidence from the manager.

Andriy Yarmolenko cannot carry on so 18-year-old Ademipo Odubeko - who came through the ranks at Manchester United - is on.

Brilliant goalkeeping from Fabianski. He's out so quick. I think Rashford could've done a bit more there. Could he have been a bit smarter with his finish?

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 53 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 West Ham

I thought that mention of extra time might trigger a chance and it does - a cross from the right bobbles through to Marcus Rashford at the far post, his chest control is great but his shot is a bit tame and Lukasz Fabianski makes himself big to make a fine save.

Yarmolenko has been rubbing his knee since the first incident. He doesn't seem comfortable at all.

Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience is definitely getting hoiked off BBC One for extra time here.

Ben Johnson is playing on the left for West Ham now and puts in a low cross which is only just dealt with. Andriy Yarmolenko is back up front but not moving all that well.

We think Ryan Fredericks is on as a concussion sub for Issa Diop, who was himself a substitute. And now Andriy Yarmolenko is down in pain after putting a cross in.

Let's do this then. Ryan Fredericks is also on for West Ham. How many right-backs do we need?

  14. West Ham need to keep the ball'published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Manchester United 0-0 West Ham

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

West Ham haven't shown up yet so they have to try and commit men forward and try and keep hold of the ball. They just kept giving it back to Manchester United in the first half.

    Ian Wright

This is the kind of game I would have had Edinson Cavani starting for his clever movement in the box.

This has the kind of vibe where West Ham will nick it 1-0.

Roger: Man United look very static. One thing noticeable, Van de Beek unable to judge flight of the ball.

West Ham contributing to a fantastic game with everyone behind the ball and zero ambition to commit anyone to an attack. They might get lucky, but don't deserve to.

  19. 'Not a lot of options for West Ham'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

HT: Manchester United 0-0 West Ham United

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

When West Ham get it there are not a lot of options. West Ham must know at some stages they are going to have some possession.

  20. 'It's been a poor game'published at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

HT: Manchester United 0-0 West Ham

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

It's been a bit of a poor game. Manchester United have had a lot of possession but haven't done anywhere near enough with it. They haven't asked enough questions of that West Ham backline.

Having said that, West Ham have so many numbers in there, that it's very difficult to break through it. Their point of view when they have had the ball, they've actually given it straight back to United because they've had no option up front.

Only in the last two or three minutes of the half have West Ham had the pass and moves to get into the United half.
