Johnny Guckian: At this rate it is very understandable that Van de Beek isn’t getting regular games for Man United. He has been anonymous, seeming to avoid the ball and panicked when he gets it. Hope he improves as he gains confidence but he’s the opposite of Bruno as it stands

Donny van de Beek is trying. He's trying to find those little pockets of space but it's been very difficult for him.

Manchester United have had a few shots blocked but they haven't really been great themselves. They definitely have more to offer.

Fred has made more passes and more successful passes than anyone on the field. Scapegoat?

Tom G: Fred and Matic shouldn't line up in the same team. There isn't an offensive pass between them. Sideways and back all night.

One word boring!!! Plus how many times does Fred want to stop giving the ball away!!

The young, English flair players like Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Mason Mount get a lot of headlines but it takes a mixture of talents to make a team and Declan Rice is right up there.

He is quick at spotting danger, covers the ground fast enough and has a physical presence.

It's easy to forget he is only 22.

Three minutes added on. I've got a feeling there may be 30 more to be added on at the end.

Better play from West Ham. That's the pattern I expected to see from them. Cresswell on the ball more, Coufal on the other side getting balls into the box for the runs of Soucek and Yarmolenko to cause problems. But it hasn't panned out that way. Man United have been really disciplined in keeping the pressure high.

Better from West Ham as they keep the ball for ages but offer very little in the way of threat. It comes to nothing.

And here's how close Manchester United came to an opener! What a stop.

Babyboomer: It is universally acknowledged that Fred has the worst shot in the Premier League. Tonight his passing is of a similar quality (or lack of).

Is there another Premier League midfielder who passed backwards more than Fred?

Both men are up and back with us. There are concussion subs available tonight of course but it was decided they were not required.

Incredible header from Anthony Martial. So brave. You know you are going to take one in this situation - you know it's coming. Hope they are both OK.

Not sure if Van de Beek has upset his teammates but they don't want to pass to him, making some excellent runs, still far too slow in the build up.

Jarrod Bowen's corner does cause danger, Declan Rice flicks it on and Issa Diop steams on to it at the far post.

He doesn't get the ball though as Anthony Martial makes a fine clearing header and Diop connects with his head instead.

They will both get checked over.

This is a game where Man United need to score now. West Ham are not going to play like this for 90 minutes. David Moyes will change things at half time and adjust something. Neither side want penalties either.

Ayush Prasad: I like van de Beek but he’s not showing for the ball enough. He’s playing on the shoulder of West Ham’s centre-halves, but that’s a striker’s job, not a playmaker’s, and he doesn’t press aggressively enough to make that work.

    West Ham playing for penalties?
