Former England and Arsenal defender on Final Score
Burnley couldn't get into the game at all and you were thinking Brighton could run away with this. They've come out for the second half a completely different team. You can't call this one.

Field: How has Bednarek not been sent off. I bet before the end of the season Luiz does the same and goes.
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
No, it looks a serious one for Fabian Schar, who is taken off on a stretcher.
Already a man down and having used up all their subs, Newcastle are now down to nine men for the remaining 12 minutes plus stoppage time.
Of which there will be plenty.

If Southampton can just continue and keep their composure and keep picking their passes in the last third, they'll break Newcastle down and they will equalise. Although they're 3-2 down this game is in Southampton's hands. They're in control.

They’ve just called for a stretcher. You can see by their reaction that it might be a bad one.
Schar could be in trouble here.
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
Miguel Almiron's free-kick is straight into the wall.
Fabian Schar then goes in for the follow-up but the Newcastle man has hurt himself, clashing knees with that man Jan Bednarek.
That did not look great and he may not be able to carry on.
Burnley 1-1 Brighton
Ashley Barnes and Robert Sanchez go for a 50-50 inside the Brighton box, Barnes goes down and the ball rolls behind. Penalty? Goal kick.
Burnley just keep coming forward, though.
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
VAR was checking it was worth more than a yellow, but Jan Bednarek is lucky it stays with Craig Pawson's original decision.
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
OH NO!!
Could be a red for Jan Bednarek....
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
I don't want to laugh, but Jan Bednarek is having a right week.
The Southampton defender was sent off against Manchester United, had the card rescinded to play in this game and is now booked for an arm in the face of Miguel Almiron.
Burnley 1-1 Brighton
Third change for Brighton as Adam Lallana comes on. He replaces Adam Webster with 15 minutes to go. The Seagulls have not managed a shot on target in this half.

This is nice weather for ducks.
Burnley 1-1 Brighton
Lovely link up play between Dwight McNeil and Matej Vydra but the latter gets the ball trapped under his feet inside the box and Brighton escape.
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
It's all Southampton.
Ryan Bertrand gets on his bike down the left and curls in a low cross but Karl Darlow shows assured handling in difficult conditions to gather.

This is a terrific game. The conditions are having an effect on this game now but Southampton are picking Newcastle apart and Newcastle don't know what to do about it. Newcastle should be three or four down at the moment.
Burnley 1-1 Brighton
Matej Vydra is slipped in by Ashley Barnes but he can't get his shot on target. The flag is up for offside anyway.
Brighton have not going in this half at all, only one winner at the moment.
Newcastle 3-2 Southampton
A final change for Newcastle and it is a defensive one.
Allan Saint-Maximin, who had a good game on his first start since 21 November, is replaced by left-back Paul Dummett.
