If Southampton can just continue and keep their composure and keep picking their passes in the last third, they'll break Newcastle down and they will equalise. Although they're 3-2 down this game is in Southampton's hands. They're in control.

Newcastle 3-2 Southampton

Miguel Almiron's free-kick is straight into the wall.

Fabian Schar then goes in for the follow-up but the Newcastle man has hurt himself, clashing knees with that man Jan Bednarek.

That did not look great and he may not be able to carry on.

Ashley Barnes and Robert Sanchez go for a 50-50 inside the Brighton box, Barnes goes down and the ball rolls behind. Penalty? Goal kick.

Burnley just keep coming forward, though.

VAR was checking it was worth more than a yellow, but Jan Bednarek is lucky it stays with Craig Pawson's original decision.

I don't want to laugh, but Jan Bednarek is having a right week.

The Southampton defender was sent off against Manchester United, had the card rescinded to play in this game and is now booked for an arm in the face of Miguel Almiron.

Third change for Brighton as Adam Lallana comes on. He replaces Adam Webster with 15 minutes to go. The Seagulls have not managed a shot on target in this half.

This is a terrific game. The conditions are having an effect on this game now but Southampton are picking Newcastle apart and Newcastle don't know what to do about it. Newcastle should be three or four down at the moment.

Matej Vydra is slipped in by Ashley Barnes but he can't get his shot on target. The flag is up for offside anyway.

Brighton have not going in this half at all, only one winner at the moment.

A final change for Newcastle and it is a defensive one.

Allan Saint-Maximin, who had a good game on his first start since 21 November, is replaced by left-back Paul Dummett.
