  1. 'There is no cause for concern for us'published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    FT: Wolves 0-0 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers speaking to Sky Sports: "We've always had tight games against Wolves, they switched to a back five today and that makes it difficult when they defend so deep. Proud of my players, we kept going. It's that time of the year to grind out results but we've come out with a point. We had some chances and got into some good areas. Their defending and us not making the final pass meant it didn't work for us. But the players worked hard after a tough game in the week."

On Jamie Vardy's last minute chance: "You could see it develop, he's so bright and his instinct to make the run when he did and get across the defenders. I think he thought Conor Coady was going to head it so he had to adjust and didn't quite get it right but you see his instinct."

On Wovles' chances: "Pedro Neto and Adama Traore are so fast and direct but James Justin was outstanding. Neto in the first half gave us a problem and we controlled it better in the second half. Good players, so they're always going to have their moments.

"To be on 43 points I don't think there's cause for concern for us. We want to win every game and the players give everything for the club we just recover now and go again."

On Kasper Schmeichel: "He produces for us every game, there's always a save or a moment where he inspires the team. He got a stud to Fabio Silva's opportunity but that's what he does and he's done it for a number of years. He's one of the top keepers at this level and he's always hungry to do more so it was a top save."

LittleBigDaithi: What’s with the football this weekend, the games are either game of season contender or the dreariest tosh every, no inbetween at all. Bodes well for LFC vs City!

New signing Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips - both natural centre-backs - are on the bench today but Jurgen Klopp has again decided to go with Henderson and Fabinho back there.

Liverpool miss Jordan Henderson in the middle of the park. Curtis Jones plays in the half-spaces better than most of the Liverpool midfield but you're taking the heartbeat out of your side, the way he sets the tempo, his energy, the way he motivates his side.

Manchester City were nowhere a few mnths ago, down in 13th after losing to Tottenham at the end of November.

A streak of 13 wins in all competitions has seen them cruise out in front.

Victory here will see them equal the record for an English top-flight club, set by Preston in January 1892 and Arsenal in November 1987.

    Wolves 0-0 Leicester

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, to Sky Sports: "It was a good performance. It was a tough game against a good team. We had chances. We are trying to stabilise the team so we can progress. We have a lot of players out. Trying to be compact.

"Jonny going off was something we decided between us, the medical staff and him. He played 45 and played good. It was a substitution regarding not today but the future.

"We had good chances. It will come. I am proud of the way they committed to playing a good team in possession. Positives."

  7. 'Not that type of manager'published at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

Liverpool v Manchester City (16:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Pep Guardiola says he did not think Jurgen Klopp "was that type of manager" after the Liverpool boss claimed Manchester City benefited from a "two-week break" because of Covid-19.

City had an eight-day gap between games over the new year as a coronavirus outbreak caused their league match at Everton on 28 December to be postponed.

"Jurgen has to see the calendar again," Guardiola said.

Guardiola's side have won 13 games in a row in all competitions, while Liverpool have won just three of their past 10 matches, and have fallen to fourth in the Premier League.

  8. Don't get many away wins herepublished at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

Liverpool v Manchester City (16:30 GMT)

Manchester City have won none of their last 19 trips to Anfield in all competitions (D6 L13), since a 2-1 victory in the Premier League back in May 2003 under Kevin Keegan.

They've only won two in 53 visits!

    FT: Wolves 0-0 Leicester

    Wolves

Wolves' Adama Traore speaking to Sky Sports: "We had the chances to get the three points but we have to take the positive things and we had the chances. We have to keep going, keep fighting we will fight until the end. Sad because we didn't score but we have to keep working and fighting.

"We did have many chances, we have to win every battle on the pitch and the final end is what we missed but we have to take positives we did well against a good team.

"We are moving in the right direction even if we didn't finish in the final end but we have to keep working and we will improve on that aspect."

  11. 'A must-win game for Liverpool'published at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

Liverpool v Manchester City (16:30 GMT)

    Danny Murphy
    Former Liverpool and England midfielder

I wouldn't write Liverpool off in the Premier League title race just yet - that would be silly with the quality they have got and the mentality this team has shown in the past.

But, although we are only just past the halfway mark of the season, this game with leaders Manchester City has become a must-win game for Jurgen Klopp's side if they are going to retain their crown.

Not only is it an opportunity for Liverpool to narrow the gap and regain some of the momentum they lost in Wednesday's disappointing defeat by Brighton, a victory would also give other teams some confidence by showing that City are still beatable after racking up nine league wins in a row.

A reminder of the teams for this one. Jordan Henderson is just a defender now it seems, Ben Davies not even in the squad. My as well just stay in Preston and work from home.

    Wolves 0-0 Leicester

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a fair result, it would've been harsh on either team to lose that - managers sometimes both say they should've won the game but I wouldn't be surprised if both today say that that was a fair result. There was nothing clear cut in the second half but there were chances on both sides.

I think Wolves will be delighted with a point but I think Leicester will be disappointed with that.

    Oh, Jamie!

Vardy has a huge chance to win it as he nips in ahead of his marker to meet Albrighton's cross. He can only glance his effort wide, though.

We are into three minutes of added time. Think we may have to settle for a point each.

This pretty much sums it up. Leicester have a free-kick on the right side of the Wolves box. Maddison shapes to cross into the middle and then pulls it to the edge of the box for Tielemens, who goes for a first time shot and completely fluffs it.
