Millsyview: Liverpool for all their possession have shown almost no penetration whilst Leicester look dangerous on the counter. Vardy could very well have had a hat trick against a lesser team to be honest

Liverpool have won just one of their last seven Premier League games when goalless at HT (D3 L3), losing each of their last two since a 3-1 victory against West Ham last month.

Since the turn of the year, Liverpool's eight Premier League games have produced just two first half goals (one for & one against) - fewer than any other side in the competition during this period.

James Milner has been substituted off for a 99th time in his Premier League career. His 17 minutes on the pitch before he went off injured included 12 touches and nine passes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold clips the free-kick into the wall and that's poor. Jonny Evans is limping badly, he may have to come off at the break.

The threat of Jamie Vardy reers its head again as he runs on to a ball and shoots but Alisson is perfectly placed to block.

Sadio Mane completely does Jonny Evans, who sticks out a foot in reflex and brings him down. Evans is booked, and hurt as well. He limps away into the wall.

Jamie Vardy must have been tight being off but he's gone very close to the opener there. James Maddison sends him behind with a lovely backheeled flick, Vardy gets away from Jordan Henderson and clobbers a rising shot against the crossbar from a tight angle. No subtlety there, all power.

VAR would have had a say for sure.

And now a chance at the other end. Liverpool switch it to Andrew Robertson on the left and his low shot takes a deflection and spins wide. Never on target but a flowing counter.

Chance, and a good one for Leicester! Harvey Barnes gets down the left, picks out a fine ball that Jordan Henderson gets underneath and it's a free header for Jamie Vardy.

He gets it down well enough but lacks the direction. It's straight at Alisson who fields on the bounce.

The tempo is just dropping off a touch now, Liverpool seeing plenty of patient possession. I have barely mentioned Ozan Kabak at the back for Liverpool but he has not put a foot wrong to date.

Rory McDermott: Kabak is Liverpool's first palindromic player in the Premier League. He must be just as good going forward as he is tracking back!

And that's superb from Kasper Schmeichel! Jordan Henderson crosses from the left, Sadio Mane can't win a clear header but manages to flick it on for Roberto Firmino who is six yards out.

He volleys, side-foot, and Kasper Schmeichel makes himself massive to make a wonderful save!

The offside flag was up, actually. But that was a 9/10 save.

Liverpool much slicker so far today. Mo Salah plays a pass into the run of Roberto Firmino but Kasper Schmeichel is on him in a flash and makes the block.
