    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City would have been livid if that free-kick had gone in then.

You could hear Harry Kane's scream from the press box as he went down and someone from the City bench shouted 'you are listening to him shouting' at referee Paul Tierney.

Pep and Jose converge for a chat on the sidelines. Maybe it's discussing the fact that only West Ham (15) and Leeds (14) have hit the woodwork more times in the Premier League this season than Spurs (12).

Spurs have a free-kick just outside the area. Harry Kane is interested. VERY INTERESTED!

What a strike that is. Bent around the wall, a long way round as well, comes in a treat and pings off the post with Ederson beaten all ends up.

    Superb effort.

ReindeerHotDog: Is there a better 'spine' of players in club football than Ederson, Dias/Stones, Rodri, Foden/Sterling? I'm struggling to think of much better. City are an incredible side so much so they don't even need a striker to score them goals. Imagine if they signed Haaland..

As we reach the 10-minute mark Ben Davies has his first touch of the ball. It's a miscontrol as well and Phil Foden nearly gets in behind him. Davies being kept on his toes so far.

    Manchester City 0-0 Tottenham

Oleksandr Zinchenko pops in from left-back and skips into the Spurs area, he should shoot but instead tries to find Ilkay Gundogan and he loses the ball. Gundogan then picks out Gabriel Jesus who sees a shot charged down by Eric Dier.

This will be a long night for Spurs fans if this pattern of play continues.

    Manchester City 0-0 Tottenham

It's been as dominant a start for City as you may have expected/feared. Here comes Tottenham's first counter though but Joao Cancelo takes the ball off Harry Kane.

Adam Kitchiner: I'll be watching this one from behind the sofa, like i watched Dr. Who and the Daleks when I was a kid.

Paul Leonard: #CmonCity, external carry on with all the hard from December & keep the run. Play like we did at Chelsea & Liverpool & we’ll be alright.

Phil Foden gets away again down the right and nearly picks out Raheem Sterling. The man of the moment has started very brightly.

Lovely from Joao Cancelo in that inverted full-back/midfield role he takes up, driving City forwards and then finding Phil Foden inside the area. He wins a corner and Rodri heads it over. Warning sign.

  11. Postpublished at 1 min

    Manchester City 0-0 Tottenham

Phil Foden has started wide right for City tonight, from where he scored a wonderful goal at Anfield having started through the middle on that occasion.

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

    Kyle Walker is well prepared.

The City full-back has just got to his seat in the stand carrying water, what looks like a cup of coffee and a hot water bottle.

I'm surprised he hasn't got a blanket as well.

  14. 'We were beaten by the better team'published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    FT: Crystal Palace 0-3 Burnley

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was pretty obvious that it was a performance we can't be in anyway happy with or proud of. We were beaten by the better team.

"They dealt with our attacks quite easily and we found it difficult to deal with their attacks.

"I am afraid it one of those defeats that you have to take on the chin but there won't be many of us going home thinking we did the best job we could do."

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to Sky Sports: "Once again we give ourselves that enormous problem by conceding goals so early in the game. I was hoping in the second half we would put some things right, try and play football and maybe claw our way back in and then we concede that third goal and you are playing against Burnley, they are a very good side and good at what they do.

"All I can do is stand here and admit we were beaten by the better side. We don't defend things properly.

"I was hoping we would see one or two outstanding individual performances like we have seen from Wilfried Zaha so often over the years. Here is the chance to put the criticism to bed that we need Wilfried Zaha in our attack and once again we failed."

Sergio Aguero is back on the bench this evening for Manchester City. A nice time to ease him back in.

  18. 'Man City have overcome their own problems'published at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

Man City v Tottenham (17:30 GMT)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Look at the problems Manchester City have had defensively, that has changed dramatically with the addition of Ruben Dias. The performances of John Stones, it's like having a new player.

There's been no Sergio Aguero, very little Gabriel Jesus recently so they have had their problems. But they seem to have got over them.

They're playing some wonderful football and getting the results. They're great to watch again.

  19. Postpublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

Burnley are now 11 points clear of an increasingly adrift bottom three.

  20. 'A very good performance'published at 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    FT: Crystal Palace 0-3 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Sport: "I thought there was a really good energy to the performance, a real good tempo and quality as well.

"Today I thought was a very good performance, we found all kinds of different chances. The tempo was there from early on. In the second half we started well and got a fantastic goal from Matt Lowton and really controlled it out from that.

"We take things one game at a time, as we did today."
