    Manchester City 2-0 Tottenham

Dele Alli is coming on for just his fifth appearance in the Premier League this season. Asking a lot.

    Manchester City 2-0 Tottenham

When Manchester City get Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne back they'll be a force to be reckoned with you'd think. Ben Davies has had a torrid night and he's now eating turf after Raheem Sterling hands him off.

Nothing comes of the cross on this occasion.

Spudlud: Lloris has been woeful for a good 3 seasons now. Has to be dropped. Hart may not be the long term answer but surely he can’t do any worse in the short term.

Matt Black: Do you think Lloris and Allison are both drinking in the last chance saloon?

  4. Postpublished at 59 mins

Half a chance for Ilkay Gundogan again but he miscues a shot this time. Again he's in space right in the middle of the goalmouth. It's like he's invisible to defenders at the moment.

  5. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Manchester City 2-0 Tottenham

If I'm being a bit harsh on Hugo Lloris worth bearing in mind that Manchester City have scored with both of their shots on target so far in this match.

    Chris Baldwin: Lloris.....again....

Paul Cunningham: Good goal, but if you give a penalty for everything then that’s why you no longer have anyone willing to challenge in the box.

    Manchester City 2-0 Tottenham

That's 10 goals in the last 12 Premier League games for Ilkay Gundogan. Staggering.

    AGAIN!

The man who cannot stop scoring beats the man who cannot make a save. All credit to Raheem Sterling as he dances from the right of the area right across to the left. He then swaps passes with Phil Foden and plays in Ilkay Gundogan making that now trademark late burst.

He's only about eight yards out and toepokes low, but Hugo Lloris should surely do better. It goes in off his hand and foot and spills over the line.

  10. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Manchester City 1-0 Tottenham

Spurs start the second half with a long spell of play, ticking it over in midfield nicely but again there's no danger in the final third for the hosts to worry about.

Moussa Sissoko is indeed coming on for Spurs, shedding seven or eight layers to put his kit on. It is a proper winter's evening now.

He's going to replace Lucas Moura.

  13. Postpublished at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

Plenty of quality in the Spurs squad but there does seem a bit of a gulf to the top sides this year. Style of play the issue?

Simon King: I really can't wait for the day Ederson finally takes a penalty for Man City and skies it over the bar!

Tom McQullin: It shows the luxury that Manchester City enjoy. Had a ‘bad’ season last year so casually spent £100m to solve the problems. Oh to be able to fix this Spurs team so easily... it will take us 5 years of savvy transfers to even have a chance to get back to where we were

Garett T Switzer: I said it when Bale returned to Tottenham: he is closer to starting in the MLS than the EPL. The fact that he cannot break into THIS Tottenham side surely signals the end to any talk of him still being a top class player.

Richard: You have to wonder what is in it for Kane and Son at Spurs. The squad is at least 3/4 years away from being title contenders. By then it will too late for them to win anything.

Chris Baldwin: I actually thought Mourinho was a good appointment. I would have taken awful football for a few years if it meant winning something after years of false dawns. But we play awful football and lose more than we win. There’s no plan B. What’s the point of Jose?

Temi Kolarinwa: Remind me why we never replaced Eriksen again?
