  1. Another draw?published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

West Brom v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

You could argue that last week's results were a travesty for both of these teams.

West Brom's 10 men could easily have won by two or three goals at Burnley, but drew 0-0. Brighton deserved a victory by a similar margin against Crystal Palace, but lost in stoppage time.

West Brom obviously need the points the most. They have improved, but it is an awfully long time since they won at home - 28 November against Sheffield United to be precise.

So, I am going for a draw here. That would be a better result for Brighton than the Baggies, but they are not out of the woods yet because they have not picked up as many points as they have deserved in recent weeks, not just against Palace.

    Prediction: 1-1.

  2. 'We are in every competition to win'published at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

FT: Man City 2-1 West Ham

    Manchester City

Manchester City defender John Stones, speaking to Sky Sports: "A lot of credit must go to West Ham. We knew what they would do. How they have been playing and their position speaks for itself. All credit. We had to fight them to the last few minutes. We were a bit deflated at half-time.

"We weren't at our free-flowing best as we have been. But that is down to how they set up. West Ham showed great character in the second-half.

"I try and chip in [with goals]. Some days it doesn't come off for the forwards and today me and Ruben chipped in. It is part of us being a team. We are just glad to get three points and keep the run going.

"Can only give credit to Ruben for moving to a new country and club and how he has played straight away. He has been outstanding.

"We go about our business in our own way and keep fighting. We are playing the football we were a few seasons ago. We have fighters in the dressing room. It has been an incredible few months. We are in every competition to try and win them."

Sam Allardyce says his players will suffer "heavy reductions" to their wages if West Brom get relegated.

"It is their signature on the contract," added the Baggies boss, who has secured one win in 12 league matches since taking charge in December.

"It will mean heavy reductions in their contracts if we lose our Premier League status."

  4. 200 wins for City under Peppublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

FT: Man City 2-1 West Ham

In what was just his 273rd game in charge of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola picked up his 200th victory with the club – the fewest games needed by a manager of an English top-flight side to reach 200 wins in all competitions.

  5. 'Exceptionally good'published at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

West Brom v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

Brighton start this one looking over their shoulder, just four points above the relegation zone with 13 games still to play.

But West Brom boss Sam Allardyce believes the Seagulls would be flying higher up the table if they had someone who could stick the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis.

Brighton had 25 attempts at goal during Monday's 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

"The only reason Brighton are not in the top eight is because they haven't got a goalscorer," added Allardyce.

"They create more chances for where they are in the league than any of us in that bottom 10. Their attacking play and creating of chances is exceptionally good, but their conversion of chances is their problem."

Daffodils are in full bloom and there's a strong smell of fear and panic at the bottom of the table.

Eleven points from safety. Twelve games remaining after this one.

This really is a must-win afternoon for West Brom.

Mark Walker: Wonder how many points City will win the league by. After a slow start would not bet against them getting 90 plus points this season

Azrael: Another win for City. Not at their best today and West ham gave them a tough game but another 3 points it is.

  9. Time running out for Baggiespublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

West Brom v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

Why don't they just get it done with and hand the title to Manchester City now? Thanks Phil. Loads of reaction from the Etihad coming up but we move swiftly on to our second game.

West Brom are actually one of the few teams to frustrate the runaway leaders this season. They've also earned a highly-creditable draw at champions Liverpool and, back in September, stunned Chelsea by taking a 3-0 lead.

But will Sam Allardyce's roadmap away from relegation kick-in before time runs out for the Baggies?

Clinical. City win again (20 in a row in all competitions) to go 13 points clear at the top.

West Ham gave them a game but the home side's extra class eventually told.

Probably safe to book the open-top bus now lads.

Oh, there was a chance to snatch a point for West Ham!

Lingard has been the source of everything good going forward for West Ham. He chips a good cross into the middle that is met by the unmarked Diop but nodded just wide of the post.

West Ham even now are still going for it. I've seen Michail Antonio getting balls in and around the box. Sometimes you don't take any points away but they haven't come to Man City and been embarrassed. Moving forward towards those top four places they'll feel happy.
