  1. 'To expect West Ham to go for City is naive'published at 12:06 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

Man City v West Ham (12:30 GMT)

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

To beat Man City, you’ve got to beat the press, you need top players to do that. It would be wrong to ask West Ham, even in the form that they’re currently in, to ask them to try and get through City’s press. That midfield can’t play through City’s press - they haven’t got the ability to manipulate the ball well enough and get out of those tight situations that they would need to get through that press.

You do have legs in Michail Antonio, Jesse Lingard and the ability and fitness to counter and hurt City if you get the chance - but to expect them to really open up and go for City I think is quite naïve.

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

West Ham are flying along in fourth place and got a great win over Tottenham last weekend - they are doing so well anyway but to beat their rivals like that must have been pretty sweet.

I really like the way David Moyes has made them so solid at the back, with a well-drilled back four and Declan Rice sitting in front of them, but this is a big test for that defence - Manchester City are sweeping all before them and on a run of 19 straight wins.

The Hammers took a point from them at London Stadium back in October but City look a completely different beast now.

    Prediction: 2-0

I am not sure when the convention for formal Premier League team sheets began but there have highlighted some unusual names.

Who knew one of Kevin Nolan's middle names was Jance - apart from him obviously.

Man City v West Ham (12:30GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

There is a bit of mutual admiration going on between Pep Guardiola and David Moyes.

The pair were opponents in Guardiola's first Premier League game in charge of City against Sunderland - and Pep has never forgotten some quite pertinent advice from the Scot - "Make sure you get the best bottle of wine possible for afterwards."

Guardiola also appreciates Moyes' approach to management.

"He is a lot of the experience I dreamed of arriving here," he said.

"Everything is calm like (Carlo) Ancelotti. They are like a calm Buddha life, in good and bad moments."

What with celebrity chefs and Buddhas the build-up to this game has been a bit surreal.

Also, as a colleague of mine has just pointed out... look at that Man City bench. Just look at it! How many Premier League teams would kill for that lot in their starting XI? And Pep has the luxury of being able to rest them for a game against the other form side in the division.

    Newcastle v Wolves (20:00 GMT)

Newcastle forward Joelinton is available despite being forced off against Manchester United because of a minor injury.

This game is likely to come too soon for Federico Fernandez, while Callum Wilson, Fabian Schar and Javier Manquillo remain sidelined.

Wolves are without defender Marcal, who was injured after coming on as a substitute against Leeds.

Daniel Podence, Willy Boly and Raul Jimenez are still unavailable.

Leeds v Aston Villa (17:30 GMT)

Leeds midfielder Mateusz Klich is a fitness doubt after appearing to hurt his back during the midweek win over Southampton.

Injured trio Kalvin Phillips, Rodrigo and Robin Koch will again miss out on Saturday.

Jack Grealish remains unavailable for Aston Villa, with no time frame put on his return from a shin injury.

Defender Bjorn Engels has recovered from a back spasm and could be among the substitutes.

West Brom will be without suspended centre-back Semi Ajayi, with Dara O'Shea likely to replace him.

Winger Robert Snodgrass will not be risked after complications from a knee problem but he should be fit for next Thursday's game with Everton.

Brighton right-back Tariq Lamptey has been training all week and could feature, although he will not start.

Central defender Adam Webster hasn't yet overcome the ankle injury he picked up at Burnley earlier this month.
