Harry Kane's goal was met with a groan of disappointment then an eerie silence in this stadium populated with Poland supporters. England had been building pressure and Kane has released it with that fine strike although not so sure about Poland keeper Wojciech Szczesny's part in that.

It was going to take something special to win this game and that was special, right out of the top drawer.

It was perfectly hit, no deflection, the defender gets close. It bends away from Wojciech Szczesny, who just dives and gets nowhere near it.

There's only one thought in his mind - hit that ball, hit it well, and it's in the back of the net. Unbelievable goal.

Now Harry Kane hits the deck after a coming together with - you guessed it - Kamil Glik.

Neither player is looking too clever here.

The goalmachine Robert Lewandowski has been stifled for much of the game but does get a chance when he darts forward to the edge of the box but dribbles a poor effort straight at Jordan Pickford.
