There was whistling and jeering when England took the knee. When that happened Robert Lewandowski actually pointed to the 'respect' logo on his shirt. Well done him.

Problems for Kalvin Phillips early on, spinning nicely on the ball but then catching Tymoteusz Puchacz on the top of the boot.

That was quite a hostile reaction from the crowd to England taking the knee.
The Polish players opted not to, they stayed on their feet.
Poland's goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny - that was quite gesture from him to the crowd to respect the England anthem before kick off, which they did. They responded to that gesture.

England's players suffered some very loud jeering when they took the knee moments before kick-off - this after some initial booing of the national anthem was drowned out by very warm applause.

More from Jordan Pickford, speaking before the game:
"We know Poland are a top side, they've got top European players. We can't hide that Robert Lewandowski is a top player with his goals record at Bayern Munich.
"We've got to be stern in defence. We've got to be ready for the best Lewandowski and we'll be the best England on the night as well."

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live about his record-equalling seven consecutive clean sheets at Euro 2020:
"I've got to be there when called upon, but I can never take the credit for all those clean sheets. The lads worked really hard on and off the ball, starting from Harry Kane up top.
"You look at the intensity of the defending, everyone stopping crosses. When I'm called upon, I'm there to make the save - but there's not many opportunities for teams to have against us because we're that strong in defence."

England boss Gareth Southgate, speaking to ITV: "No two games are the same and this sort of challenge will be different to what we faced last Sunday.
"We will have to defend better as a team and limit the supply first and foremost. Robert Lewandowski is an outstanding striker.
"If we think we do not have to work or do hard yards, we will come unstuck.
"We are hitting a level of performance that is good, but we have to strive for perfection."

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has admitted making a "mistake" when he confused footballer Marcus Rashford with rugby player Maro Itoje.
The Evening Standard newspaper quoted Williamson as saying he had enjoyed a Zoom discussion with England and Manchester United's Rashford.
But an aide later clarified that it had actually been with Itoje.
Manchester-raised Rashford called the difference in accent between him and Londoner Itoje a possible "giveaway".

Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live
It will be cat-and-mouse tonight with the full-backs and the wide men. If England can keep their two wide players forward and pin Poland back, that would be brave. They did that well against Hungary.
With this England squad, things have worked so well for them within the camp as well.
When you have the three games in an international break, it makes it so much more interesting, more fun for the team, especially when Gareth Southgate makes 11 changes. It keeps everyone involved.

I would create an inter-country tournament, where each team is selected by pulling numbers out of a hat (FA cup style) with each ball representing a different player.
