So a trouble-free night for England who are returning home to prepare for Tuesday's qualifier with Hungary at Wembley.

Expect to see Harry Kane back for that one. The Three Lions are a step closer to qualifying for Qatar.

England goalscorer Tammy Abraham told BBC Radio 5 Live: It was a tough night. I think I'm used to it in Italy with so many players dropping back behind the ball. I had to stay confident and stay focused, I knew the opportunity would come. I was in the right place at the right time and I took my chance.

It's never straight forward [against Andorra]. As you watched today, it was hard to break them down. You could see the quality in the team as we had to find ways to score, and we did.

On his England recall: I need to keep performing for my club and I hope I'll be in more camps going forward leading to the World Cup.

On the penalty and looking keen to take it: Of course as a striker you always want to take a penalty, but James [Ward-Prowse] said that the gaffer told him before the game that he was on penalties, so no fuss there. He scored, so I'm happy for him.

Tammy Abraham on Jadon Sancho's cross for his goal: "He [Jadon] told me at half-time that sometimes he would cut back on his right and try and find me in the middle of the goal, so I should be ready. I was ready that time and got a good toe onto the ball."

England's Jack Grealish talking to BBC Radio 5 Live about scoring his first goal for England:

"It has been a long time coming and it's about time that I scored because everyone has been saying it to me. I think that is 16 games now. It was coming and I'm just delighted that I've got off the mark.

I want to be starting games, to be starting the biggest of games and keep playing for England. Luckily over the past few months and during the Euros I've had the chance to do that.

In the back of my mind there has been that feeling that I've just wanted to score, just to get off the mark. Obviously I've done that tonight, I'm delighted and it's a night I won't forget.

Bukayo Saka's goal (assisted by Phil Foden) was the first time two players aged 21 or under have combined for a goal for England in a World Cup qualifier since Steven Gerrard assisted Michael Owen against Germany in September 2001.

England boss Garerh Southgate to ITV: "[Pleased with] the way the team went about the game against a very specific challenge. A low defence to break down. We picked players who could take that challenge on. I thought the application was excellent.

"We know with those types of defences [we can use] those diagonal runs from wide, you know Phil Foden can hit them, as can James Ward-Prowse. Those diagonal runs were a real threat.

"Sam Johnstone's pass was a very bright piece of play. There were some nice moments, for Chilly (Ben Chilwell) to get a goal after a tough summer with us. Jack's first goal. Tammy, Bukayo - are not players who score too often so it was nice for all of them."

Ben Chilwell and Jack Grealish became the 36th and 37th different goalscorers for England under Gareth Southgate (excluding own goals).

The only England managers to have more different scorers are Walter Winterbottom (62) and Alf Ramsey (39).

England goalscorer Tammy Abraham, speaking to ITV: "It's a good night for me and the boys. We knew it was going to be tough and had to stay focused. Luckily we got an early goal.

"Some of things we have done tonight, there's a lot to be positive about going forward.

"As a striker you always want to take penalties but the gaffer told James he was on penalties. Hopefully my performance shows I am clearly doing the right things.

"Hopefully I can keep going and keep pushing. For me, I was disappointed to miss out [on the Euros] but I am playing every week. It's a tough squad to get into."

England will have to wait until next month to book their place in Qatar, after second-placed Albania beat Hungary 1-0.

Poland added a couple of late goals to beat San Marino 5-0.

Dusan Vlahovic's winner for Serbia against Luxembourg took them above Portugal (who have a game in hand) at the top of Group A.

Denmark are 90 minutes from the World Cup after a 4-0 win over Moldova.

Northern Ireland lost 2-0 to Switzerland with injury-time goals in both halves.

Tammy Abraham (Roma) became the first England player to score for the Three Lions while affiliated to an Italian team since David Platt (Sampdoria) v Sweden in June 1995.

Greg: England hit Andorra for five. Great to see players on the peripherals coming in and doing a job. Don't expect it to be as easy on Tuesday v Hungary but would be surprised if they don't pick up maximum points.

Dennis: Bukayo Saka's goal was simply amazing. That connection between him and Foden was wow.

Phil Forden was outstanding all night.

England played well, they were patient in attack but also forceful. They played with good width and good depth. They did everything Gareth Southgate would have asked of them.

Conor Coady had a good game, Ben Chilwell got his goal, Tammy Abraham will be pleased and Jadon Sancho provided two assists. But Phil Foden was the one who really stood out.

It's a very good night all round for Southgate and his side.

We have seen some players get good minutes that haven't played an awful lot of football. It's a game you are expected to win but Southgate will be pleased by a positive night.

England need two wins from their remaining three games to make absolutely sure of automatic qualification. They are against Hungary (h), Albania (h) and San Marino (a).

Arjun: Great goal, but that assist from Johnstone was a thing of beauty!

Ben: Grealish is different gravy. He just oozes confidence. Hoping Sancho can get some of that back - makes all the difference.
