    Conor Coady

    Would you believe it!!

    Football, eh?

Wolves win a free-kick midway into the City half and Joao Moutinho delivers a superb ball into the box, which Coady launches himself at to head low past Ederson.

Out of nowhere, Wolves are level - with what I'm pretty sure is their first touch in the City penalty area.

Rui Patricio is having a good one.

Riyad Mahrez, to the right of goal, cuts back onto his left foot as he so often does and unleashes a stinging shot which Patricio meets with two strong hands to keep the ball from finding the top corner.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 51 mins

    Man City 1-0 Wolves

A really good save by Rui Patricio.

Kevin de Bruyne takes a touch to control a pass and sends a low shot towards the opposite bottom corner.

The Wolves keeper is on his toes and dives across to tip the ball past his post for a corner, which Wolves send clear.

Adam Salter: People are complaining that VAR disallowed the goal. IT DID NOT! The linesman disallowed the goal. If VAR didn’t exist, and the pundits drew their lines after the match and showed he was offside, would you complain? No.

DD: VAR offside should be the chest like in athletics. Feet can be 4 or 5 feet apart whilst chests level so can’t use them. Current law presumes confidence in moment ball is struck - which is impossible.

Just for a few seconds... Wolves played with three up front! Not for long as they soon dropped back in but they did press with three players and all of a sudden, they were asking Manchester City a question they never asked them in the first half.

Wolves have certainly started with much more confidence on the ball but they keep getting caught in possession.

Pep Guardiola is up, encouraging his players as Rui Patricio scoops up a loose ball in the box.

Nathan: If I were Pep, I would bring Stones and Gundogan on to put this game to bed. Also my FPL selection - purely coincidental I swear.

If i were Pep I'd tell my players to have some fun with those heat maps. See what interesting pictures/shapes they can draw with all that possession?

Wolves make a bright start as Adama Traore bursts forward, but he can't pick out Pedro Neto to his right and City clear.

There's a lot for Nuno Espirito Santo to think about at half-time, but first and foremost Wolves need to attempt a shot at some point.

City are unbeaten in their last 35 home league games when they've led at half time - and their last 26 league games when ahead at the interval.

Chris: If that part of Laporte's arm had put the ball in the net it would have been ruled out for hand ball. Ridiculous decision.

VAR offsides have become ridiculous. Just go by the feet, and make it simple(r).

The bad news for Wolves is that they still haven't got in the City area tonight, or had a single effort at goal. A bit of a wasted journey for them on that front, so far.

The 'good' news is that they eventually completed 152 passes in the first half, compared to Rodri's 76. The whole City team managed 446 though.

I guess one of the reasons why Pep Guardiola is so successful are the demands he places on himself and others.

The Manchester City manager may be presiding over a team that is sweeping all before it just now but there are a couple of moments in the last few minutes that have annoyed him, including that Bernardo Silva miss.

Trevor Dempster: That's a ridiculous VAR decision.

Theo: Explain to me how you can be deemed offside when they measure it from your arm again?

Kieran C: How can you be offside with a part of the body you’re not allowed to score a goal with?

    On City's disallowed goal...

I'm not having that. It's one that you look at and you think 'I don't even know if that ball is on Silva's head?' There is a period of time where it touches his head and it's such a tight decision - you're talking millimetres.

A decision like that should go with the striker.
