  2. 'I'll drink beers for the players tonight'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Aston Villa

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder to BT Sport: "I said to the players I'll celebrate for them tonight. They have another game on Saturday. All the beers they might have drunk tonight, I'll do that for them. I'll give it a good go.

"It was everything you want in a performance.

"That was a game like 90% of our games last season."

On Phil Jagielka's red card: "Not a great decision. I don't think Villa can ever complain about the decisions that have gone against us in our previous three fixtures. We got on with it and kept the ball out of the back of the net.

"He was a long way out. I still think Bryan is close enough and we had retreating players. I think it's harsh.

"Some of the decisions, not just for us, but for everyone else are head-scratching."

It feels like pressure has been on Roy Hodgson at points this season but he's once again had a solid season at Crystal Palace.

The Eagles' tally of 33 points is their highest after 26 matches of a top-flight season since 1991-92, when they had 36.

  4. 'Man Utd to get revenge'published at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Crystal Palace have not played particularly well in either of their past two games but they picked up four points in total and they are probably only one win away from safety now.

I don't see them getting it against Manchester United, though. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side didn't go all out for the win at Chelsea on Sunday but that was because a draw was a decent result against a team looking to close the gap on them.

This will be different. United started their season by losing at home to Palace but they are much better on the road and I think they will get their own back at Selhurst Park.

    Prediction: 0-2

  5. 'We showed a good mentality'published at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    FT: Burnley 1-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BBC Sport: "Awful goal, poor from our perspective. I didn't think we started either half well but the mentality of the team to come back from that was good.

"In the moments we played and moved the ball I thought we were very good. From a physical perspective we gave everything in the game.

"I thought once we got going in the second half we looked like the team that could win it but it is OK, a point and we move on."

Edinson Cavani is the best Man United have in the fact that everybody plays better off him. His movement is so good, there are spaces that develop for the like of Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. He's not going to be the long-term solution for United but players last longer these days. I think most United fans will think it's good that Cavani is there.

Manchester United are unbeaten away from home in the league this season and have not lost any of their last 20 league matches on the road (W13, D7).

  8. 'We take the point'published at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    FT: Burnley 1-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to Sky Sports: "We didn't make a good start but showed the mentality of the players to come back into the game.

"We didn't start the second half well but then I felt as the second half wore on we could go on and win the game and we nearly did.

"It is four out of six points against Burnley, it is a tough game and especially after the turnaround from the weekend. Overall we take our point and there are certain areas we can be better in."

Francis Edwards: Lindelof not playing. He has fewer mistakes that lead to goals and fewer mistakes that lead to goal scoring opportunities. Maguire makes mistakes every other game. Ole needs to come out and admit he’s been a failure for 80m.

  12. 'Their keeper was man of the match'published at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Burnley 1-1 Leicester

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is pleasing in the sense of coming off a very tough game against Tottenham. Their keeper was arguably man of the match. I was really pleased with our approach play, it was much, much better.

"Leicester are a good outfit despite having a number of injuries like ourselves.. You can't be too greedy and the performance was important, getting back to what we are about.

"We haven't had a fully fit squad for about a year now. That is a test for us. It does get stretched sometimes and I have to remember that myself sometimes. We had a dip on Sunday and did a couple of weeks before that but we were excellent today."

  13. 'We were excellent'published at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Burnley 1-1 Leicester

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought we were excellent throughout. We were a little bit tentative in the first half when we went 1-0 up but second half I thought we were terrific.

"That was a really strong performance against a really strong side. I don't know if he was man of the match but he should have been up there. Mainly for the reaction from a tough game against Tottenham but today our defending shape was good and in attack we did maybe offer enough to score another goal.

"The Premier League is a tough place to be and if you have a quiet day against top sides you can get hurt. We have often come out of tough results and responded and we did that today.

"Performances are something for a season's work. They pay you back eventually. It is another point and we have to go again on Saturday."

  14. 'We're still fighting until the end'published at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Aston Villa

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United matchwinner David McGoldrick to BT Sport: "We knew it would be a tough game and it got tougher when we went down to 10 men. But it showed how much we're fighting for this club.

"It was backs against the wall.

"We showed massive character. We all care about the club. We're still fighting for our lives and our future. We're still fighting until the end."

Crystal Palace make just the one change from their goalless draw with Fulham at the weekend.

James McCarthy replaces Jairo Riedewald in the heart of midfield, while Connor Wickham returns to the substitutes bench.

    Crystal Palace

Manchester United make four changes from the side who drew with Chelsea at the weekend.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson replaces David de Gea, while Eric Bailley, Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani also start.

  17. 'Could have gone both ways'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    FT: Burnley 1-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel: "We knew what we come up against with Burnley, a lot of physicality and a lot of balls into the box. We responded well and we probably come away with a slight disappointment. It was a very level game but we are disappointed in the way we started the game. We responded well, it could have gone both ways.

"The games are coming thick and fast, we have Brighton now and it's a cliche but that is the next thing we have to worry about."

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Aston Villa

I lost track of how many blocks and last-ditch tackles Sheffield United players made in that second half. A masterclass of just digging in.

Villa had 82.8% of the ball in the second half and 10 shots (to Sheffield United's one).

The Blades completed 35 passes in the second half.
