Liverpool are running out of ideas - they are a team lacking in belief and the confidence has drained out of them as the season has gone on.

Defensively they aren't what they were and we know the reasons for that but offensively it's a bit of a head scratcher really. When you look at that front line and the goals they've scored - Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino there's a real lack of goal threat. That was why it was a surprise taking Salah off because he's there go to now, to take him off is an enormous call. I wonder if Jurgen Klopp will regret that call.

Once again, Chelsea do look the most likely to score when they attack as Mason Mount plays in Timo Werner inside the box but the striker's shot from a tight angle is blocked by Alisson.

Chelsea seem quite content for Liverpool to have the ball, seemingly quite confident they can deal with their forays forward. The hosts just seem so short of ideas when they get close to the opposition's box.

Jurgen Klopp claps his hands in encouragement to his players, urging them to get forward. Liverpool are seeing plenty of the ball but can't find a way through this well organised Chelsea defence.

Subbed off in the 62nd minute, Salah has been substituted the earliest into a Premier League game at Anfield that he started since April 2014 - which was for Chelsea against Liverpool (60 mins).

Chelsea make a change as Christian Pulisic comes on for Hakim Ziyech.

The visitors are looking pretty comfortable with Liverpool still struggling to break them down - no shots on target yet for the hosts.

I can see Mo Salah there he's sat on the bench shaking his head and muttering to himself he's not very happy. It was a strange call really, Salah's not had a particularly good game but neither have any of the Liverpool players.

Mo Salah is still shaking his head as he slaps on a big, warm coat on the bench. He's not happy and may well be frustrated with his own performance. The front three just did not link up well at all.

Jurgen Klopp's seen enough to decide he needs to make a change now. Off goes Mo Salah and Curtis Jones with Diogo Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

There's a shake of the head from Salah as he goes off. Big call by Klopp.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has go from distance with a speculative effort but its blocked before Timo Werner bends over the far corner at the other end of the pitch.

Timo Werner's movement is really good, he has that pace. Peels on the shoulder all the time looking for that one ball in behind. Some good runs from him.

Another corner for Liverpool and it's an attempt at a planned routine as Trent Alexander-Arnold plays it low into the area but Chelsea are not caught out and the danger is cleared by Antonio Rüdiger.

Almost a second for Chelsea but Andy Robertson clears Hakim Ziyech's effort off the line. Big chance for the visitors.

Honestly no idea what is going on with handball calls these days. Fulham were penalised for an accidental handball against Tottenham earlier this evening but nothing given for that one. These are confusing times...
