  1. 'We are not safe'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 1-0 West Brom

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to Sky Sports: "I put it down as a very good, solid win against a team who ask a lot of you. They put lots of balls in around the penalty area. They get the ball forward and into the box. It's very solid football from their side. If you don't plug the gaps or compete as you need to, you pay the price. We didn't because we did those things particularly well.

"Every game is different. West Brom are using the players they have got at their disposal very well. We knew this would be a tough test. It's one of those games where you don't get a lot of praise for drawing or winning. Those points for me are very valuable.

"There is 38 games a year and each one of them is very important. It's watched by millions of people all over the world so I don't think it's acceptable for a player to not give everything. Every manager in this league would fear the words 'complacency' or 'safe'. We are not safe. We will only be safe when the number of points we have in front is greater than the number of games we have left and points to gain from them.

"Every season is going to be decided in May. If we are in the league in May and above three teams in May then that's what I'm looking for. We do have a margin to them so it takes the knife from the throat to some extent. We know we have nine more matches and we need nine more performances."

Burnley have won five of their 13 Premier League matches against Everton, a tally bettered only by their six victories versus Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

However, the Clarets have lost five of the six Premier League away meetings.

  3. 'We need a natural goalscorer'published at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 1-0 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Sam Allardyce to Sky Sports: "You don't fear the worst when you out-play the opposition and arrive in their area twice as many times. We had twice as many crosses and twice as many shots. But we had 12 shots and only one on target.

"That shows what our problems have been. We ended up losing to a penalty. I have no complaints about the penalty. I think it was a penalty. Left frustrated for the players' efforts not being rewarded and that's a consistent analysis from me. It was our lack of finishing in the end.

"Everybody will have a say or a talk or a chat about it, but at the end of the day you need a natural goalscorer. When you have one, he finds the way to be in the right areas and he doesn't need more than one opportunity to score. I think lots of teams in the area that we are in find that's their problem. That makes life very difficult for you.

"Everything about what we're doing now - we're defending superbly well and our football leading up to the final third is excellent. Our balls into the box maybe could be better but they are coming and the chances are there. We need more responsibility to not only score, but to hit them on target. When you keep missing the target that's the most disappointing thing for me.

"There's 27 points available and 20 needed. We can only really afford to drop seven points. It's a massive mountain to climb for us. Everybody knows that."

  4. Lawro's predictionpublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    Everton v Burnley (17:30 GMT)

Everton's home form has not been great but this is a chance to change that.

The Toffees can match Burnley physically and if they do the same with their work ethic then they should win because they have more quality.

    Prediction: 2-0

Simon: Phil getting the good end of the stick, Man City have averaged over 2 goals a game this season so you're bound to get more than the singular one!

This would be very true Simon, if I wasn't handing back to Emma for the Fulham-Man City game after I've finished at Goodison. Sanders gets the glory leg

  6. 'Anything can happen'published at 17:12 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 1-0 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone speaking to Sky Sports: "We've played well today. The lads are frustrated because we've played well and can't find that win.

"I had little to do, we had the majority of the ball and ultimately we couldn't put the ball in the net. It's frustrating because we can't seem to get a win.

"The lads are giving their all, we have been all season. Our performances have been a lot better but we need to start putting the ball in the goal. Today a penalty unfortunately loses the game for us.

"There's nine games left and we have a large break now. We will stick together and anything can happen in football. The lads are going to keep going."

I'm starting to embrace the fact that Palace seem to be a thorn in everyone else's side. We play stubborn, unspectacular football that frustrates anyone and everyone who watches it. You hate watching your team lose against us and you rarely enjoy watching your team win against us. We hardly ever have majority possession, shots on target or corners, and we're nearly always last on Match Of The Day. And I think that's brilliant.

  8. 'I support Zaha 100%'published at 17:09 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    Crystal Palace 1-0 West Brom

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a massive three points for us. It's something that is very important before the international break, we can go away with a positive mood.

"We knew they are fighting for their lives to try and stay in the league. It is not easy. We expected a tough game. We knew it would not be easy but we did well. It was not easy especially for our defenders but they did a perfect job today."

On Wilfried Zaha's decision not to take a knee before kick-off: "We spoke yesterday about it. I support him 100%. We are taking a knee to show an example so when kids see they are asking why are players doing that. Wilfried is going further, he did it the other way, and I respect him 100%."

Jaleel: Ajayi is supposedly not good enough to play in the backline for this Baggies, though the defence has not improved since he was dropped by Allardyce after his last red card. At least, he's one of their top scorers, why not try him as a striker! Digne isn't cutting it.

    Everton v Burnley (17:30 GMT)

Chelsea's draw with Leeds earlier will have been a boost to the Toffees. They have two games in hand on Thomas Tuchel's side and a win this evening will leave them two points behind them. That race for the top four still has a way to run yet.

As for Burnley, they're still glancing over their shoulder regularly with Fulham's form having picked up. West Brom's defeat is a bonus, though. It is really only the Cottagers that are a threat to their Premier League place.

So what you think for this evening game then? An Everton win, despite their iffy home form this campaign? Or another victory for Burnley on Merseyside?

Straw poll time. Thumb up for home win, thumb down for away win.

    I'm skipping over the draw.
