  17. How is Gerrard success viewed from Anfield?published at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

Will it prove significant that Steven Gerrard secured Rangers' first league title in 10 years on the day Liverpool suffered a sixth consecutive home defeat?

Eyebrows were raised when Jurgen Klopp and Gerrard both signed contract extensions with their current clubs that are due to expire on the same date.

The assumption was that Gerrard was being lined up as the natural successor once the German swanned off victoriously into the Merseyside sunset.

Instead, the wheels have come off at Gerrard's former club, last year's champions sit seventh after today's 1-0 loss to Fulham and in danger of missing out on European qualification. What price an early approach for their former captain if they are looking for a new boss?

  19. 'It's been a long 10 years'published at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Stuart McCall
Former Motherwell and Rangers manager on Sportsound

    Quote Message

A great day for Rangers, naturally. Steven's had two really good European campaigns and currently in the third one. They've been slowly building and that's what managers need - they need time. He's been given that. It's been a long 10 years and it's been a tough 10 years for Rangers supporters

  20. What's next for Rangers?published at 16:42 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

If Celtic had managed a victory today at Tannadice rather than drawing, the title race would have continued to a potentially monumental showdown with Rangers on 21 March.

Instead, that will be relegated to a less meaningful Old Firm derby where only pride will be at stake.

Before then, Rangers return to the Europa League arena on Thursday with an away match against Slavia Prague in the first leg of their last-16 tie, with the return leg at Ibrox on 18 March.

After the international break, Rangers begin their Scottish Cup campaign with a home match against Cove Rangers on 3 April. Can they end Celtic's grip on that trophy too?

The first of Rangers' post-split fixtures in the Premiership will be on the weekend of 10 and 11 April.
